POur foreign policy is a business plan. You can find out more about it on my website, although surely the DOJ knows how much Enron contributed to Bush's election campaigns.

Enron was in trouble in India an Pakistan as regards pipelines to the Caspian Sea oil.

1967 : Johnson asks for more funding for Vietnam War

On this day in 1967, President Lyndon B. Johnson asks Congress for more money to support the Vietnam War. “Lyndon’s War,” a war Johnson actually inherited from President John F. Kennedy, had achieved nothing by 1967. The North Vietnamese use of guerrilla warfare tactics resulted in approximately 14,000 American troops killed in action by early 1967. Hundreds of U.S. planes had been shot down, leaving Air Force personnel in enemy POW camps. Although the enemy also suffered heavy casualties, they did not show any signs of giving up.

Desperate for more military funding, Johnson proposed a six-percent “surcharge” tax on personal and corporate incomes. Johnson’s tax proposal, approved by Congress in March 1967, backfired with an American public tiring of the controversial war. Previously ambivalent Americans protested the government’s demand on their pocketbooks for a war that was beginning to appear impossible to win. As a result, Johnson’s popularity waned toward the end of 1967. By year’s end, a total of 19,560 troops had died in more than a decade of hostilities. The Viet Cong’s surprise Tet Offensive in January 1968 convinced the majority of the public and many U.S. political and military leaders that the war could not be won. Johnson realized support for his administration had disintegrated and decided not to run for re-election in 1968. His successor, Richard Nixon, although staunchly anti-communist, won the election largely based on promises to end the war.

Rosie also gave an excellent talk about remembering the returning Vietnam soldiers to the neighborhood and watching it on TV as a child and how it affected her life. (She said none of GWB's gated neighborhood knew what that was like.) Rosie may have a big mouth, but she does good for people and she is the real deal.

Hi, guys.
Senator Gordon, at the end of that video, said he faced a dilemma about taking away the bullets from troops already on the ground.Hmmm.
here's an interview with Nancy Pelosi:

BobGeiger.com: Pelosi On Opposing Iraq Escalation: "We Will Not Be Swiftboated On These Issues"

She said:

"We will say what we believe is right for our country and if he wants to say 'you're cutting off funding for the troops,' we just have to come right back on that -- because that's all they say," said Pelosi. "What are they going to say? 'You want to cut off money for the troops' -- we're not doing that. There are people who want us to, but that's not what the leadership and the Democratic party in Congress is advocating, by and large.

"We will not be swiftboated on these issues," the House Speaker said firmly.

Let the Iraq's start to run their own country. That's what we do in a democracy. They really need to assert their independence, although I'm sure the Bush administration is interfering with that. Like wanting 75% of the Iraqi oil guaranteed to the U.S being one of Bush's conditions Iraq must agree to.

GEf, s_q,

The Cunningham scandal involves a San Diego old boy network. San Diego is also major military /republican.

Here's something from Wikipedia about Duncan Hunter, who is also the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee:

A Department of Defense inspector general found that the department awarded ADCS, a company owned by Brent Wilkes, a $9.8 million contract in mid-1999 after "inquiries from two members of Congress." Hunter has repeatedly acknowledged that he joined with Representative Randy Cunningham that year to contact Pentagon officials, who then reversed a decision and gave ADCS the contract, one of its first big ones.[12]

Between 1994 and 2004, Wilkes and ADCS gave $40,700 in campaign contributions to Hunter. In 2003, Wilkes's foundation hosted a "Salute to Heroes" gala to give Hunter an award, just as it did for Cunningham a year earlier. The Wilkes Foundation also gave $1,000 in 2003 to a charity run by two of Hunter's staffers.[12] However, Hunter has not been found to have committed any crimes or ethical violations. Wilkes is currently an unindicted co-conspirator.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening folks!

TGIW!

"SPB, are you saying "impeachment is off the table?" haha Well, only if I can get an indictment instead. People said the same thing about Nixon-but 50,000 telegrams changed the "representatives" minds..."

I wanted to answer T first on her question to me. First of all, I have been on Pelosi's distraction list on the House Democrats long before she was ever thought about being Speaker of the House. From what colleagues told me in the area that she represented in California that she is tough cookie. And she really did not like what the Gerbil was doing to this country and the state and her city. When I said from my comments earlier that she doesn't need to impeach the President, PELOSI DOESN'T NEED TO IMPEACH THE PRESIDENT. IT WILL BE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! I remembered in the Nixon era when the Nixon was impeached. And T, Nixon was impeached by the people not by Congress! The people had spoken in 1974. Yes, I do know from all the polls and on the lips of people that the public is very angry at the President and don't like the direction that this country is going. And yes, I too signed many petitions to have the President and the Vice-President removed and voiced my opinions to my elected officals many times. But, as John Dean said (he was the ex-WH chief of staff to Nixon), you need 2/3 of Congress to proceed with impeachment hearings. So, that is why I am reaching two both parties and not just the Democrats to express my concerns as a U.S. citizen, professional, and taxpayer that the President should be removed from the office. I am talking to those the Congress people who can be the 2/3 of Congress to get the President removed.

Also, you have to remember about Bill Clinton's impeachment hearings. Congress wanted Clinton removed as President despite Clinton's poll numbered were high. The GOP Congress at that time wanted him gone despite what the American people wanted. But, it was the people that spoke up from Mr. Clinton. A majority of people did not want Clinton impeached over his blowjob with Monica. The concern was his job and not his affair with Monica. But, Congress turned into a media frenzy.

The GOP want Pelosi to remove the President because the GOP will make it as though Pelosi is removing the President and Vice-President as a revenge tactic by the Democratic Party. Pelosi knows the game of the corruped the GOP and she is not going to let that happen. Pelosi is playing with the big boys now. And certainly many of the GOP don't respect her because she is the madam Speaker. My advice to you is to motify Ms. Pelosi through email or phone and express your concerns to her. That is my 2 cents. Sorry, my comments are too long.

Like I said from the get go that this is not going to be easy for the 110th Congress as they walking into dog doo doo left by the 109th Congress. I never said that this will be a cake walk for the Democrats. But, I have to be honest with you, I really do not pay attention to the media on any of their spin because I look at this way. If, you don't like who is in office as Congress, then you run for Congress if you think you can do a better job. The media and naysayers will bitch and moan about what 110th Congress are not doing or are doing, blah, blah.. My question is would you want the same 109th Congressmen that lost in November to have won and be back in their seats once again for 2007? So, not all of the 110 Congressmen serving that I'm absolute thrilled about especially Joe Lickerman. As far as Lickerman, you have to thank his state of voting him back in. But, that is what we have in the 110th Congress. But, I am more excited about the young elected officials and new faces in office with fresh ideas. And that is what is needed in this country and not the same dinosaurs that refuse to change. The young officials will shape this country and the not the father time elected officals like Specter! That is what I am exciting about.. So, all I say is stick with your officials and demand changes. I know that I am. I emailed my official because he voted no on a bill that passed. So, I emailed him and asked him why did he vote no on the bill.

I know a lot of people and the media are looking for the 110th Congress to create a miracle in 100 hours. And that is not what people should be looking at. They should looking at the end results of their actions in those 100 hours. See, we never held 110 Congress acountable for anything in the past 6 hours. And I know what you are saying about the Gerbil. Don't you think the 110th Congress are hipped to the Gerbil's manipulations? Of, course, they are. That is why many of the Dems Congress were complete shut out from the Gerbil. But, people are in the "now" mode of saying that Democrats need to do this this this. They have so much in the plate. And I haven't one person in the media talking about the 11 hearings that the Democrats are having. That is really alot of hearings to start off with. And you haven't heard of Waxman's strategy because he is keeping that a secret too. Yes, the secretary told me that over the phone. He is only giving out information thru his website.

"However, the GOP are still stinging from that 6 year flesh wound..It takes time to heal."

And yes, they are. I feel bad for for the GOP officials who are not part of the corrupted that are being screwed.

Is the surge an orchestrated distraction from the real war plan?

A good case can be made that it is. The US Congress and media are focused on President Bush’s proposal for an increase of 20,000 US troops in Iraq, while Israel and its American neoconservative allies prepare an assault on Iran.

Commentators have expressed puzzlement over President Bush’s appointment of a US Navy admiral as commander in charge of the ground wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The appointment makes sense only if the administration’s attention has shifted from the insurgencies to an attack on Iran.

Anon @ 240:
Nancy Pelosi is on to Bush. This is from the article I posted earlier:

Pelosi was also asked to look ahead and give her interpretation on whether or not the Iraq war resolution -- or any legislation passed so far -- gives Bush the unilateral authority to invade Iran. She responded that Bush has no singular authority to make such a move and expressed concern that Bush will feign diplomacy, give up easily and move way too quickly to a military option. She was also clear in her commitment to watching Bush like a hawk if he tries to do that.

"No, that resolution does not empower the president or give him the authority to go forward in Iran.

"What I'm concerned about with the president is that he will try to make it look as if he's making diplomatic overtures which are not really of the depth and breadth that they have to be and then say 'well, I've exhausted the diplomatic remedy.'

"So what we have to do on the Congressional side, on our oversight is to, again, be unequivocal in Congress and globally that we do not want them [Iran] to go forward and that we do not want to increase the number of nuclear powers in the world. It endangers the world, it's wrong.

"But, on the other hand, we have time to do this right and we're going to keep a close watch on the president so that he doesn’t call a gesture or token diplomacy as 'well, we tried that and it did not work.'"

Gordon Smith just sees the handwriting on the wall. He is up for reelection in 2008, and if the Dems put up anyone good like Rep. Earl Blumenauer from Portland, he doesn't have a prayer of winning. Blumenauer received the most votes of any candidate in Oregeon in November, and he can win the Senate just by taking the three counties around Portland. After six years of rubber-stamping everything Bush wanted, Smith is offering too little too late, but at least that might force him to vote properly for his last two remaining years.

Yup, alot more people are on to the Administration. It is only a matter of time that the Gerbil cabal are finally brought to justice. And here another person who bailed out on Bush:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Kenneth Tomlinson, who drew Democratic ire for trying to add conservative views into public television and radio, said on Tuesday he plans to step down once his successor is named.

Tomlinson has served as chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, which oversees the U.S. government's international programming to Cuba, the Middle East and other areas, since 2002.

Any thoughts, people? What do others think about anonymous' theory?

For right now. But, Waxman is on his ass. Here is the lastest from Waxman's website posted today:

As part of President Bush's revised strategy for Iraq, he appears likely to propose giving large sums of taxpayer dollars to decrepit and possibly corrupt state-owned Iraqi companies.
The Administration has already spent over $30 billion in U.S. taxpayer funds and another $20 billion in Iraqi funds under its control. Yet despite the vast expenditures, the reconstruction effort has produced little of lasting value. The nonpartisan Government Accountability Office reported yesterday that “Iraq’s oil production and exports have consistently fallen below U.S. program goals” and that “10 percent to 30 percent of refined fuels is diverted to the black market or is smuggled out of Iraq and sold for a profit.” Reconstruction efforts have also faltered in the electricity, health, and other sectors.
I
n a letter to his colleagues, Chairman Waxman proposes that Congress answer several key questions regarding the President's new spending proposal.

Pelosi: "We Will Not Be Swiftboated on These Issues"
By Bob Geiger
BobGeiger.com

In a media conference call Tuesday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) reinforced the tough stance that she and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) are taking against the Bush-McCain doctrine of escalating the Iraq war, denouncing Bush's historic "poor judgment" and warning that Democrats will not allow their loyalty to the troops to be questioned because of their stance.
"Democrats oppose the escalation. Senator Reid and I signed a letter to that effect to the president last week," said Pelosi, on the 35-minute call with leading Progressive bloggers. "And we're making a very strong differentiation between supporting our troops, which we do - those in the field now - and giving a blank check to the president for an escalation of the war."
"He's done this before, this escalation, and it hasn't worked. And the same poor judgment that got us to where we are now , is what he wants us to respect as he goes forward."
Pelosi also made it clear that she and the rest of the Democratic leadership are ready for predictable attempts by the Bush administration to spin opposition to an ill-advised Iraq escalation as Democrats not supporting the troops.

WASHINGTON // The thousands of troops that President Bush is expected to order to Iraq will join the fight largely without the protection of the latest armored vehicles that withstand bomb blasts far better than the Humvees in wide use, military officers said.

Thanks for the wax man artical. It's sure a good thing that he is for truth and justice. I sure hope that something can be done before Dubya flips out and tries to bomb Iran.

If Dubya thinks that strongly about the Neocoservative ideology, then he can strap on a bomb and walk into Iran by himself. At the rate he is going he will soon be by himself.

"The gerbil and ambien spin is in..."

"Now lets just sit back and enjoy WW3.."

Indeed it will WW3 with the spin of the Gerbil and the Ambien and the war with Pelosi and Congress.

Everyone will be paying the price of the two war profiteers. Unfortunately, the soldiers have to suffer from this and the American people have to suffer because we are paying this false pretense war. This is one of my main concern. And that is what Robert Greenwald, director for Iraq for Sale and Waxman are concerned. Bush's purse needs to be taken away. That is what is keeping this war going on and the pockets filled by people who are in cahoots with the Gerbil.

If they take away his purse he'll blame the DEMs for not equipping the Troops properly...

gerbil and ambien are Globalist evildoers and need to be Impeached!!

We should expect this constantly from gerbil for the next two years if we don't act now and remove these fools!!

GEF:

That is why the Gerbil hasn't been aware with things. If the Dems cave in to the Gerbil and give him what he wants, then you and the rest of the bloggers, will complain about the Dems being lame duck to the Prez. That is what the Dems did in the 109th Congress. Cave in! I'm sorry but the son of bitch's purse needs to be taken away. I am talking about the Gerbil's purse on pet projects and payoffs. I am not talking about the money for the troops. I think you are missing my point. The President has been giving leeway from the 109th Congress to do whatever he wanted. They just frisbeed out money to this President and no accountability of that money. Where is the 400 billion dollars that is not accountable for? So, the money, GEF, has to be accountable and taking away the Gerbil's allowance will do it since he can't manage money. That is what Waxman is working on and investigate and that is what Pelosi wants. The Gerbil has been living off the gravy train too long in spending. So, enough is enough.

"gerbil and ambien are Globalist evildoers and need to be Impeached!!"

Go for the real President first, Cheney. Once you get Cheney, the Gerbil is lost for his lollipop. Go for the strongest.

"I sure hope that something can be done before Dubya flips out and tries to bomb Iran."

Yeah, Geezerpower. Take away the chimpster's lunch money from his purse.. And kill the milk machine.

Personally I believe the Waxman route is a complete work in frustration because these boys are already hunkered down either not cooperating, seeking a legal loophole or throwing distractions in the works...

It won't work. They got Gonzo in their back pocket Biloxi.

Impeachment is the only way to go imho!

Well...I'm not sure that Dubya's getting his lunch money from Ambien, I think that the whole evil cabal probably has a slush fund. What Waxman is up against is the agragate corruption of the whole corporate government and the neoconservative agenda. It's true that Dubya is by far the dumbest, but he is in the wrong place at the wrong time, and if he needs a buck for a Subway sandwich, he can get from anyone of the cabal, includung Bill Krystol...lol

Yeah I agree. Let those who have to listen to him do so...

Why should we hear about troop escalations and more deaths? It's not Relevant so why should I waste my beautiful Mind on that ?

I think the that if the truth be known, it is not the Gerbil speaking. It is well known that he uses an earpiece, and that if he actually wrote his own it would have the audience rolling in the aisles in laughter.

I was listening to his weekly radio broadcast, and viola...no pauses and perfect speech, kinda like gerbils voice, but relaxed and it was flawless. What in the heck?

All in all it won't be worth listening to, but i probably will just for the laughs. I really need that about now...LOLMAO

Admit it Geezer. You like to listen to gerbilspit. It dumbs you down until you eventually get reprogrammed.

For example: Gerbil is still equating Iraq with the War on Terror even tho there was no WMDs found in Iraq and that Saddam hated Al-Queda probably more than the West did..

Now that there are Al-Queda there trying to prevent him from Empire Building on Arab lands he's using that as his escuse now...

We know what you're really doing gerbil...You can't fool us any more..

If WTC 1993 was a sting, what do you think 911 was? You don't buy the lie do you? I realize what we are contemplating is horrible, but...what else can you expect from this group of criminals.

Does anyone doubt that these people who can lie to get us in war, make millions and millions off our tax money and our blood, send our troops into battle without proper protection to get their legs and arms blown off and then try and cut their benefits when they get back home....do you think these creeps could plan and pull off 911?

I do."

Hi,all. I typed what my thoughts after watching Bush's address and reflecting on today's surge. I erased it, though. I didn't think anyone would want to read it anyway. It was sad. I promised not to let Bush take my hope this year and he's not getting it. It's all I have left.

How is everyone else feeling?

I listen to the speech and found alot of it was repeated for earlier speeches. As for his understanding that many more of our soldiers will die as he looks for a win. UK is having 3000 troops leave Iraq. So in words we're going it alone. As Americans see up to 200 troops killed a month I hope those who support this remember this didn't have to happen. PM Maliki isn't supported by the Iraq people as a leader so he has no way to control anything. Even as our troops on the ground say the President is wrong he continues to do this his way as if this is a game and not recognizing the lives that will be lost for yet another mistake.

Evening All,

More cut and paste speeches from dubya.

This headline thankfully is so untrue its beyond a lie so I had to share it...just like Paul Craig Roberts said.

TROOP SURGE 'ALREADY UNDERWAY'

If this is so,its very interesting that no one in the military knows about it.

Hi, Ms Jackie. Hi, MS t.

It's more obvious than ever that Bush is up to something other than his stated mission.
T, I hope someone can stop this before he does send more troops, but I'm afraid that's not the case.

Senator Gordon Smith said on the news recently that the troop surge would already be accomplished by the time the new congress was in session. There must be something that can be done. There's a series of protests downtown this week. I wish I could go.I have to be careful about those kind of things, though. People can get out of hand. That's all I need is to get arrested.
