The only remaining outlet for the groundswell of dissent in opposition to the Neo-Fascist takeover of the west is the Internet, and it keeps these jack-booted [expletive deleted] awake at night to think you can sit in front of your computer and broadcast your outrage to the four corners of the earth on a whim.
The fact that the U.S. government demanded access to the Google search queries of around 150 million Internet active Americans under the umbrella of the NSA eavesdropping program (recall the surveillance trucks in V For Vendetta that tuned into home conversations) proves that the elite are deliriously nervous about the last remaining outpost of freedom and its potential to influence change.
In addition, the European Union has moved to completely regulate Internet freedom. The first step is the introduction of licensing laws where you would be required to register, pay tax and only receive permission to operate a website if your material didn't violate the broad ranging "hate speech" laws legislated by the EU - in which criticizing the EU itself is deemed "hate speech."
The development of "Internet 2" is also designed to create an online caste system whereby the old Internet hubs would be allowed to break down and die, forcing people to use the new taxable, censored and regulated world wide web. If you're struggling to comprehend exactly what the Internet will look like in five years unless we resist this, just look at China and their latest efforts to completely eliminate dissent and anonymity on the web.
Last week we highlighted similar efforts in the U.S. to mobilize resources in the war on terror to target bloggers as terrorist sympathizers and propagandists.
The White House has made it perfectly clear that it will target American citizens for propagating information harmful to the interests of the U.S. government and classify them as enemy combatants. This is codified in sub-section 27 of section 950v. of the Military Commissions Act of 2006.
Bush's own strategy document for "winning the war on terror" identifies "conspiracy theorists," meaning anyone who exposes government corruption and its lies about major domestic and world events, as "terrorists recruiters," and vows to eliminate their influence in society.
In a speech given last Monday, Homeland Security director Michael Chertoff identified the web as a "terror training camp," through which "disaffected people living in the United States" are developing "radical ideologies and potentially violent skills."
Chertoff has pledged to dispatch Homeland Security agents to local police departments in order to aid in the apprehension of domestic terrorists who use the Internet as a political tool.
A program on behalf of CENTCOM is also underway to infiltrate blogs and message boards to ensure people, "have the opportunity to read positive stories,"presumably about how Iraq is a wonderful liberated democracy and the war on terror really is about protecting Americans from Al-CIAda [sic].

THE DEATH OF THE REPUBLIC

Read H.R. 6166: Military Commissions Act of 2006
To amend title 10, United States Code, to authorize trial by military commission for violations of the law of war, and for other purposes.

Status: Passed House (96% of Republicans supporting, 83% of Democrats opposing.)

This bill has been passed in the House. The bill now goes on to be voted on in the Senate.

This bill states:

‘‘(1) UNLAWFUL ENEMY COMBATANT.—(A) The term ‘unlawful enemy combatant’ means—‘‘(i) a person who has engaged in hostilities or who has purposefully and materially supported hostilities against the United States or its co-belligerents who is not a lawful enemy combatant (including a person who is part of the Taliban, al Qaeda, or associated forces); or ‘‘(ii) a person who, before, on, or after the date of the enactment of the Military Commissions Act of 2006, has been determined to be an unlawful enemy combatant by a Combatant Status Review Tribunal or another competent tribunal established under the authority of the President or the Secretary of Defense.”

IN OTHER WORDS, YOU CAN BE DEEMED TO BE AN ALIEN ENEMY COMBATANT BECAUSE ONE OF THESE COURTS SAY YOU ARE.

It goes on to say:

“3) ALIEN.—The term ‘alien’ means a person who is not a citizen of the United States.”

Now, in case you think that this bill does not apply to you because you are a citizen of the United States, read the following, which I found at the following website:
“We learn that the United States government, under the auspices of protecting domestic security from acts of terrorism, proposes the following:
under Section 501 of the Domestic Security Enhancement Act of 2003, an American citizen can be stripped of citizenship if he or she "becomes a member of, or provides material support to, a group that the United States has designated as a 'terrorist organization,' if that group is engaged in hostilities against the United States.
— Nat Hentoff, The Village Voice February 28, 2003
The article comments:

“It is entirely without precedent for the government to revoke citizenship without a linguistic statement of the déclassé demanding such a status. According to Hentoff, such statements, for the current administration, are irrelevant: "'the intent to relinquish nationality need not be manifested in words, but can be inferred from conduct.'" (emphasis added)
Once again, it is impossible to know if we are in "material breach" of the law, if our actions, linguistic or otherwise, are proof of some unknowable complicity with evil, some terrorist tendency in each of us. This visibility of guilt will not be met with juridical process but with removal from the systems of justice entirely. Citizenship, along with the rights inhering in that status, is revocable. "Inalienable" no longer has any meaning in the state of exception in which we live.”

IN OTHER WORDS, THERE ARE CIRCUMSTANCES, WHICH ARE NOT ENTIRELY CLEAR, WHERE YOU CAN BE DEPRIVED OF YOUR CITIZENSHIP.

Going back to HR 6166, it says:

‘‘(g) GENEVA CONVENTIONS NOT ESTABLISHING SOURCE OF RIGHTS.—No alien unlawful enemy combatant subject to trial by military commission under this chapter may invoke the Geneva Conventions as a source 23
of rights.”

IT GETS WORSE.

‘‘(d) PUNISHMENTS.—A military commission under this chapter may, under such limitations as the Secretary of Defense may prescribe, adjudge any punishment not forbidden by this chapter, including the penalty of death when authorized under this chapter or the law of war.”

FRIGHTENING! VERY, VERY FRIGHTENING!

Let’s hope that the checks and balances put in place by the Founding Fathers are enough to ensure that this bill is thrown out. What happens over the next few days in the run up to the 11/7 elections is crucial to the survival of, and future of the American Republic.

What can you do? Kick out all those representatives who voted aye on 11/7 (Details on www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h109-6166), write to your senator insisting they vote no when it comes before the senate, write to the supreme court judges saying that this is unconstituional, alert your friends by e-mail to what is going on, create and hand out leaflets to members of the public, demonstrate, start petitions.

Whatever you do, do something buddies, because this is your darkest hour.

Because of my illness, Mr. Fitz, I do have some memory problems. It is embarrassing when it happens, that short, fleeting moment of frustration trying to make your brain work. One time I was in a lot of pain after working at school event, left there, went to the local convenience store and when I was writing a check--I tried bluffing my way into asking what day it was? The truth was my mind was blank on what day, month and year it was...it wasn't happening from brain to paper.

Stinkin' Scooter and other people that use that excuse.

My teen age daughter figured she would use this 'memory problem' to her advantage. "you know that you can never remember anything since you got sick, Mom". That defense didn't work for her butt either.

Outing someone like Valerie Plame with all the manipulation and planning it took, even I would damn sure would remember the details.

According to U.S. Navy officials, the alert has been ordered "as a precaution" based on general public threats made by al-Qaida and additional intelligence about possible terrorist attacks on oil facilities. The officials say however the alert is NOT based on any specific intelligence that pinpoints a possible time or place for an attack.

Funny how Scooter has spent so much $$ on his defense and this poor performance by the memory "expert" is the best they can come up with. Just goes to show that money can't solve all problems.

I find it particularly curious that the memory "expert" forgot that she previously encountered Fitz on the witness stand. That does illustrate the point that people don't always remember everything. But the reality is that someone who is trained as a lawyer (which Libby is) knows the difference between "No" and "I don't remember", particularly when they are appearing in front of a grand jury that has the power to indict. If Libby ever takes the stand in his defense, his cross examination will be a lot of fund to watch.

I do feel a bit sorry for UC Irvine. It is a very good school. Too bad its name is now getting some bad press because the dreadful performance of the "expert" who is a prof there.

(CNSNews.com) - In an interview on Washington Post Radio Friday morning, Jim Webb, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Virginia, said excerpts of his novels are "a little bit inappropriate" to be read on news radio.

"I don't know why you're reading that on WTOP," Webb told host Mark Plotkin. "I think it's a little bit inappropriate."

Plotkin was reading an excerpt from Webb's novel "Something to Die For," in which Webb describes a female stripper performing sexual acts with a banana.

"I don't think that's appropriate for you to read on WTOP," Webb said again as Plotkin finished the excerpt. (Washington Post Radio is WTOP's sister station.)

The campaign of Republican Sen. George Allen on Thursday released excerpts from some of the war novels Webb wrote between 1978 and 2002. The books include some graphic sexual passages, as well as frequent uses of a racial slur for blacks and descriptions of Vietnamese women as "monkey-faced."

WASHINGTON (AP) - Former Bush administration official David Safavian wept as he asked for leniency in his obstruction of justice case Friday, telling a judge that his lobbyist friend Jack Abramoff manipulated him and drew him into the scandal.

Safavian, who was convicted in June of lying to investigators about his relationship with the lobbyist while Safavian was chief of staff in the General Services Administration. He helped provided Abramoff with details about GSA projects and offered advice on dealing with the agency.

At sentencing Friday, Safavian apologized for giving the appearance of impropriety but said it was not fraudulent.

"Yes, Jack Abramoff was a friend but he wasn't my coconspirator and I wasn't his," Safavian said. "There was no conspiracy to defraud anyone, least of all the taxpayers."

Safavian didn't say, however, what U.S. District Judge Paul L. Friedman wanted to hear. Early in the hearing, Friedman told defense attorneys he was leaning toward a sentence of 15-21 months in prison and was not convinced Safavian had accepted responsibility for his crimes.

"Get up here and tell me, 'I agree I concealed. I agree I obstructed justice,'" Friedman said earlier in the day. "I don't believe he's done that."

Friedman said he would issue a sentence after court returned from lunch at 1:45 p.m.

Abramoff is cooperating with an FBI corruption investigation into Congress and the White House. He has admitted using gifts to influence lawmakers.

The investigation snared its first congressman this month when Rep. Bob Ney, R-Ohio, pleaded guilty to covering up expensive gifts and trips from Abramoff. He admitted taking trips, tickets, meals and campaign donations from Abramoff in return for official actions on behalf of his clients.

Two former aides to Tom DeLay, the former House majority leader, have also pleaded guilty, as has Ney's former chief of staff.

Less than two weeks before the Nov. 7 election, the latest Associated Press-AOL News poll found that likely voters overwhelmingly prefer Democrats over Republicans. They are angry at President Bush and the Republican-controlled Congress, and say Iraq and the economy are their top issues.

In 2004, exit polls predicted a Kerry landslide. These exit polls were carried out by a company whose exit polls were known to be accurate to within one tenth of a percentage point.

Bush apparently won, and everyone scratched their heads and wondered what was wrong with the exit polls.

The discrepancy between the exit polls and the actual final count was enough to ensure that Kerry lost in Ohio.

But the problem was not with the exit polls, but with the electronic voting system.

The day after, after an interval of several hours after it had become clear that Bush had apparently won, Bush appeared before the TV cameras and said, in a manner which at the time I found extremely hubristic, but which I now believe to be deeply sinister: "I've given John Kerry time to reflect...".

Reflect on what? The scale of Bush's victory and the need for Kerry to publicly concede defeat? Or the consequences to Kerry and his family if he raised legal objections to the way the election was held?

What makes this time different is the fact that alot of people are angry at the GOP. Now, yes they can tweak the vote at the machines again and yes they got more machines now that they can guarantee a win...

However, If they are willing to stomach the Constitutional Crisis that is coming upon this nation should that occur with so many aware individuals then I say that they are even dumber than they appear.

So be it. This time the Constitutional Crisis will be even bigger than the 2000 election fiasco where Judges got to pick who was president...

Come on guys. I'm in a bit of a fix, here. Looks like GOP are gonna lose big time this November and it looks like the public are wiseing up to the fact that the elections were stolen in 2000 and 2004, so I cant pull that stunt again and get away with it. So, guys, help me out here. I need to think up an October sirprise to make a greatful American public vote GOP or to scair them into voteing GOP. Here are a few of ideas to get your minds thinking in the right direction.

· Provoke the Iranians into attacking US warships off the coast of Iran. Werked in 1963.
· Carry out a false flag operation against a US warship before the ’06 fix, I mean, elections, and blame it on the Iranians.
· Get my friends in the Iraqi judishery to sentence Saddam Hussein to death on 11/6.
· Announce the death of Osama bin Laden.
· Set off a dirty nukulear device in a major American city and blame it on Al Qaeda.

A former Bush administration official received an 18 month prison sentence for obstructing justice in connection with the convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff influence-peddling scandal, Reuters is reporting.

David Safavian, 39, who resigned from his job last year on the same day that the criminal complaint was signed, once worked at the General Services Administration and the White House budget office.

"Safavian was sentenced on four counts less than two weeks before elections in which the scandal and other corruptions charges have endangered Republican control of Congress," Matt Apuzzo reports for Reuters.
