Now THIS is interesting - from Wayne Madsen Report:

June 1, 2006 -- Rocky shoals for Bush marriage? Informed sources Inside the Beltway report that First Lady Laura Bush has established temporary residence in the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC as a result of a tiff with President Bush over an extramarital relationship involving her husband. Mr. Bush's tryst is said to involve Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. It is not known how long Mrs. Bush plans to remain at the Mayflower, however, her security detail has been present at the hotel during hours when the First Lady would normally be residing in the White House. While she was National Security Adviser, Rice, who has never been married, referred to George W. Bush as "my husband" before she corrected herself and said, "the president." Rice was speaking at a dinner when she made her "husband" remarks.

WMR is tracking the Laura Bush story

Well, well, well, Girlfriday and the Gerbil? Hmmm? The Girlfriday/Gerbil/Stepford Wife saga sounds like a night time soap opera. The plot thickens.. I wonder which one will try to end the love affair between the Gerbil and the bottle. We have to find out in the next episode: THE SIN AND THE SINFUL.

This article will be in the Rolling Stone magazine tomorrow. I think Roger would like this article since he has been expressing the election and voting fraud on this blog:

Here is an excerpt of the Rolling Stone's article:

Was the 2004 Election Stolen?
by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

"I’m not confident that the election in Ohio was fairly decided."
-- Howard Dean

"Ohio was as dirty an election as America has ever seen."
-- Lou Harris, father of modern political polling

"In the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone magazine, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. investigates a GOP voting scandal in the 2004 presidential election that virtually guaranteed another four years in the White House for George W. Bush. Surveying reports by federal officials, election scholars, and voter advocates, Kennedy finds that in Ohio alone, a critical battleground state, Republicans prevented more than 350,000 voters -- the overwhelming majority of them Democratic -- from casting ballots or having their votes counted. In a race decided by only 118,607 votes, he concludes, these votes could have been enough to put Senator John Kerry in the White House. In his article Was the 2004 Election Stolen?, Kennedy also uncovers evidence of outright fraud that may have shifted more than 80,000 rural votes from Kerry to Bush. The primary culprit behind the widespread barriers to voting was Ken Blackwell -- now the GOP candidate for governor of Ohio -- who used his powers as secretary of state to purge tens of thousands of eligible voters from the rolls, create long lines in Democratic precincts, and oversee a rigged recount. Says Rep. Dennis Kucinich, "The secretary of state is supposed to administer elections, not throw them. The election in Ohio in 2004 stands out as an example of how, under color of law, a state election official can frustrate the exercise of the right to vote."

"Kennedy investigates numerous election night irregularities including the monumental discrepancies between exit polls and actual voter count. As the last polling stations closed on the West Coast, the polls showed Kerry ahead in ten of eleven battleground states. But as the evening progressed, official tallies began to show implausible disparities – as much as 9.5 percent – with the exit polls. In ten of the eleven battleground states, the tallied margins departed from what the polls had predicted. In every case, the shift favored Bush. Based on exit polls, CNN had predicted Kerry defeating Bush in Ohio by a margin of 4.2 percentage points. Instead, election results showed Bush winning the state by 2.5 percent. Bush also tallied 6.5 percent more than the polls had predicted in Pennsylvania, and 4.9 percent more in Florida."

"According to Steven F. Freeman, a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania who specializes in research methodology, the odds against all three of those shifts occurring in concert are one in 660,000. "As much as we can say in sound science that something is impossible," he says, "it is impossible that the discrepancies between predicted and actual vote count in the three critical battleground states of the 2004 election could have been due to chance or random error."

"Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Rolling Stone spent four months investigating the 2004 election in Ohio, interviewed dozens of election officials, pollsters, candidates, voter advocates, and political scientists, and reviewed reports by federal officials, statisticians, voter advocates and journalists. Kennedy's article, Was the 2004 Election Stolen? appears in the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone, on sale nationwide, Friday, June 2."

Happy reading!

This rumor has been rampant in DC for a couple of years. I've always wondered why people didn't question the "my husband" slip. If Ms. Rice had EVER been married, it might be understandable, but it sure seems curious for someone who has not. . .

Could it be that where there is smoke, there is fire? Has anyone besides me ever noticed the Nancy Reaganesque way Ms. Rice has of looking at her boss when he is speaking, sometimes even with tears of pride welling up in her eyes?

Condi Rice was plucked from obscurity and put in one of the highest posts in the land. That's reason enough to "adore" her boss.

I'm guessing the Bush marriage has always been rocky - alcoholism for a start - but the White House is large enough to accomodate separation, and moving to a hotel is just asking to be tabloid fodder.

So whatever is really going on, I doubt we'll ever know, but it's highly unlikely the first lady would move to a hotel. If she hasn't left GW by now, she ain't gonna.

Basheert I read the same thing it was at a journalism dinner. Yes she called Bush her husband but the journalist that were at her table were told by officials not to print that. The only one that did was a freelance journalist. Now we know what the GOP means when they say family values. Connie will always be the other woman the Bush family would never let a son marry a minority. It's hard for them to keep Jeb's wife/kids in the closet.
Something else I've been thinking about. Our troops went to Iraq and good honest kids fighting for WMD now Rummy has turned them in to killers. Now the military wants to give them ethics training, they had all that before they were told to kill woman and children. Look who's doing the training. It's like taking something good making it bad then when you get caught you say your going to fix it. What have they done to our kids.

Speaking at West Point the other day, the president said in both cases, we have been fighting "followers of a murderous ideology that despises freedom, crushes all descent, has territorial ambitions and pursues totalitarian aims."

"In comparing himself to President Truman, Mr. Bush pointed to the ways both have responded to threats to the United States. There is one difference worth noting, however. That would be that President Truman didn't invade anybody the way President Bush invaded Iraq..."

S-Q,

Hey, thanks for passing along the article of the Gerbil being the worst Prez. This is intersting on the Left Coaster website:

"Strong Democratic sentiment pushes President George W. Bush to the top of the list when American voters pick the worst U.S. President in the last 61 years. Bush is named by 34 percent of voters, followed by Richard Nixon at 17 percent and Bill Clinton at 16 percent, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today. Leading the list for best President since 1945 is Ronald Reagan with 28 percent, and Clinton with 25 percent."

"Among American voters 18 - 29 years old, Clinton leads the "best" list with 40 percent."

"Among young voters, 42 percent list Bush as worst."

"This was a poll of registered voters, not just the American public. Only 3% of the independents thought W was the best president of the last 61 years, and only 8% of the Republicans thought so. Clinton was rated the best president by 40% of the 18-29 year-old voters, with Kennedy coming in second at 19% of that group. W didn’t crack 4% in any age group. Bush took the top spot among all respondents, young voters, and among independents as worst president of the last 61 years."

Ouch to King Gerbil, the man without a country!

Just a short comment and a question. Several regular posters on this blog are optimistic that justice will be served and that the evildoers in our government, all the way to the top, will be exposed and made to suffer the consequences. I read the horrible news stories about the arrogance, mind-bending corruption, misuse and squandering of funds,high-jacking of votes etc., etc., etc., and can't see how it can be brought to an end. And, now this Tom Flocco piece? I hope it's not true.
But Special Prosecutor Biloxi, Basheert, Jackie, s-q, and others here, how do you maintain hope for the best in the face of so much pure corruption?
Patrick Fitzgerald is one of the best, if not the best, prosecutors in the country, and he certainly seems dedicated. But he is only one person, no matter how many are working with him. What keeps you bloggers holding out for the best? I feel the despair starting to take over. I will keep reading, and would appreciate any sharing of thoughts. Thanks.

I read the Tom Flocco article. I've been reading him for some time now.

I have been reading from various sources about the French, along with the FBI are trying to keep this country from turning into a dictatorship. I have been holding this information in my mind to allow the reality unfold and weigh what I see happening against what these articles articulate.
Unfortunately, I'm seeing all kinds of evidence just under the radar that seems to confirm the malice and forthought of this shadow government. They could do this. There's no doubt in my mind that 911 was an inside job.
Now, Huffingtonpost has a article there that Bush is asking the internet providers to become an arm of the government. Supposedly to get pedophiles. Yeah, right.
Why did Porter Goss resign? Why, why, the list gets longer and longer.
Finally, Joseph Kennedy Jr. has been doing investigative work on the 2004 election and is publishing in Rollingstone, evidence of the stolen election of 2004.
Yes, the shoot out is highly possible. Sad to say.
We no longer have the country we had just 7 years ago. We no longer have free elections in this country.

Hey, Anon at 4:28 pm:

"How do you maintain hope for the best in the face of so much pure corruption?" Simply it is faith! Faith and hope are lost in this country. You know it wasn't raining when Noah built the ark, but he built it anyway on faith from God. But, for me, a faith and hope is in the heart. If your heart believes, then you believe. I have seen some bloggers on the blog come and go. From the beginning of the CIA leak case, Fitzgerald certainly didn't win votes exactly from the public and the media. But, when he indicted the little soldier, there was hope. After hope, here comes despair, confusion, and questions as the case is not over with.. Fitzgerald warned that there was going to be negativity about this case and about him which would cause people to question Fitz's case thanks to the certain media and naysayers. But, it is only the people who will stick with him from beginning to end which I call "faithful friends" and not the ones who say to Fitz: "yeah, I believe you, man." And then, when there is negativity from the media or from people, all of a sudden, they disappear. See, winners never quit. They stay the path no matter how differcult the road is. Someone used to tell me: finish what you started. Fitz started this case and will finish the case no matter how many bumps in the road.

When I read this on Tomflocco.com, it blew me away -- and yet, it makes sense, (when in doubt, follow the money...) and manages (somehow) to tie the whole thing together quite nicely....

Here are a few excerpts that caught my attention:

----------

"Fitzgerald is reportedly convinced that the Bush administration wanted Valerie Plame-Wilson’s identity as a CIA official leaked because her intelligence team had identified Israeli Mossad operatives inside Iran who were to receive weapons of mass destruction (WMD) to be delivered through Turkey and planted in Iraq to further the president’s case for war, said the intelligence expert.

“The financing for these whorehouses is linked directly to AIPAC, Benjamin Netanyahu, Marc Rich and Jack Abramoff; and the money trail ties back to American International Group (AIG), Hank Greenberg and Doug Alexander—former British Minister of E-Commerce,” said Heneghan.

In an ominous prediction, Heneghan said, “It won’t be long before the un-compromised U.S. military may have to declare a State of Emergency and re-implementation of the Constitution under a special provision of the Naval Code, which would lead to the arrest and removal of the criminal government residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.”

According to Heneghan, the Abramoff congressional sex ring is tied to the SunCruz Casino scandal, secret accounts at Riggs Bank and Crozier Bank, the 9-11 “hijacker” Venice, Florida flight schools, and former U.S. ambassador to Italy Mel Sembler and Doug Alexander—both of whom have been linked to the reported Florida 2000 election fraud—all of which is tied to a financial trail that connects narcotics trafficking to Al Qaeda and the congressional sex ring.

MSNBC host and former congressman Joe Scarborough, subject of a recent TomFlocco.com story, “is now cooperating with federal investigators in the Abramoff matter which has led the probe to the doorsteps of the AIPAC whorehouses now operating in Washington, DC,” said Heneghan.

The intelligence expert told us “Scarborough told federal investigators that he now believes his female staff member was murdered in his congressional office to silence her regarding knowledge of Alexander, Sembler, Katherine Harris, Jeb Bush and the Florida election 2000 coup d’ etat.”

------------

Just goes to show how far these WH criminals will go to hide or further perpetuate their lies and crimes against humanity..... Please, PJF, (I realize that you are a deliberate and patient man, and that's why you're perfectly suited to do the job you're doing; however, for those of us who feel the constitution and this great country crumbling under the whims and whines of these traitors....)

Combined with the other story I read in Tomflocco, I'm convinced that we don't have much time before these criminals stage another great 9-11 -- this time, I'm afraid, that it just might be a 6-6-06, kind of thing.... Which is coming up next week!

This "attack" apparently was scheduled to happened last week --

Washington—May 31, 2006—TomFlocco.com—Bush administration officials operated Memorial Day weekend damage control to cover up the deaths of three foreign intelligence operatives—two British and one French—involved in a Friday morning shootout in the House of Representatives parking garage.

The altercation turned into an exchange of automatic weapons fire over a pouch containing evidence files documenting an operation to bomb the rail system along the Northeast corridor on Thursday—with the full knowledge of George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair who was in Washington while the operation was being hatched.

Teams of U.S.-French alliance (AFA) operatives—including CIA, NSA and FBI agents committed to holding the Bush administration accountable for criminal activities—had been electronically monitoring a British agent who they determined to be the leader of a black ops bombing plot planned for the purpose of disrupting northeast rail traffic via a fake terrorist attack.

Federal agents revealed that a taxi cab left the Rayburn building parking garage with three body bags just after the shootout which was covered up by Capitol Hill police on instructions from Bush officials who were in contact with television executives and House/Senate leaders.

The agents had followed the British operative into the Rayburn parking garage where the shootout occurred according to longtime federal whistleblower Stewart Webb and intelligence authority Thomas Heneghan both of whom confirmed the whole incident via several of Webb’s 22-years worth of inside federal sources with further corroboration by several more U.S and French intelligence agents to whom Heneghan spoke.

Evidence files proving the bombing operation were seized after an Israeli intelligence agent had reportedly tipped off the Brit who was being pursued by AFA agents which resulted in several House and staff members experiencing shot-out automobile windshields and doors sprayed with bullet holes in the ensuing weapons exchange, the two told TomFlocco.com.

And, according to the article, both Bush and Blair knew! Scary stuff indeed.

So, let's indict tonite!! What do you say? If not May, then certainly EARLY June will do...right?

Folks,

Porkrinds behind the wiretapping:

The Wiretapping Scam
By Saul Landau
Progreso Weekly
01-07 June 2006 Issue

"Karl Rove or his White House troglodytes shape discussion around themes that distract the public from the issues and place the incompetent and corrupt Bush Administration in a patriotic light."

"The current subterfuge deals with the Administration's "security need" to monitor telephone calls - vital intelligence. "If Al-Qaeda phones the U.S., we want to know about it," said Bush, defending the constitutionally dubious and very massive eavesdropping program."

"In fact, little "vital intelligence" derives from phone monitoring. Nor do eavesdropping agencies seem to care about getting good intelligence. On September 10, 2001, for example, NSA experts encountered a seemingly juicy Arabic phone call. But they didn't translate the message, "tomorrow is zero hour," until September 12."

"Real intelligence," Special Agent of the FBI Robert Scherrer told me in 1980, "comes from framing the right question and finding the person with the right answer; not the paid informant who tells you what he thinks you want to hear so he can keep getting paid."

" The wire tap ploy extended to ABC News, New York Times and Washington Post reporters. After all, since these journalists discovered the CIA's secret prisons in Romania and Poland, they must have good sources. Look how Karl Rove framed the issue: tap phones of those who reported on kidnapping, illegal spying and torture to find the leakers, rather than discuss the illegal policies. As Rove faces indictment for his role in obstructing justice in leaking former covert CIA op Valerie Plame's name, his mastery of mis-framing issues continues to confound Congress - to Bush's advantage and the detriment of Democrats and Truth. Don't look for Hayden to offer intelligent counsel, like "change Middle East policy," as a route to diminishing the terrorist threat. But do expect him to build files on Americans as his ilk has done in the past."

June 1, 2006 -- In the rift between Congress and the Justice Department, Americans side overwhelmingly with law enforcement: Regardless of precedent and the separation of powers, 86 percent say the FBI should be allowed to search a Congress member's office if it has a warrant.

That view is broadly bipartisan, this ABC News poll finds, ranging from 78 percent among Democrats to 94 percent of Republicans.

Of course we have hope.
Our country has gone through a lot during it's growing stages, some that seemed as bad as this at times I'm sure.

The American people are resilient. None of us wants to just give up and let them win.

Pendulums are wonderful creatures, like tides. They ebb and they flow. What I am worried about is that the pendulum will swing WAY back the other day in response to all these scandals. I must admit to wishing and hoping for a short breathing spell before we start heading whatever way we go next.

You are not the only person to worry about a False Flag attack. I truly believe the Bush Administration would launch a missile at Kate Smith if they thought they could get away with it.

But watch closely. The spiraling is beginning and the Bushco's are entering a period where every move they have ever made is going to be scrutinized through the eye of the needle.

People like this NEVER win. There are millions of Americans who are middle-grounders. They hate this crap - no matter which side is doing it.

There is no doubt in my mind that we've only hit the tip of the Bushco Iceberg. The revelations will be coming out for years.

But because we value our country, it will survive. America means a lot of things to a lot of people. So far, things look bleak but if you check the edges, the film is starting to lift. More and More and More corruption and illegal activities are coming to the surface (pond scum does rise).

I have to believe that when Rock meets Hard Place, the American people will stand up, shake ourselves off, and start over again.

WE ARE GOOD PEOPLE. What makes us great is our hearts, our souls, our compassion and our inate goodness. The fact that we are fighting back is evidence that we have not lost who we are!

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Pssst. Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid. What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas after all.

A day after The Associated Press reported Reid accepted free ringside seats to boxing matches from a Nevada agency trying to influence him on federal boxing legislation, the senator offered his own ethics justification to a home state audience in Las Vegas.

And he vowed to keep taking such gifts.

But Reid's comments Tuesday quickly reached Washington, where several ethics experts concluded the Senate leader had misstated the Senate rules to his constituents.

Within hours of being questioned by AP about the ethics experts' assertions, Reid's office abruptly reversed course and acknowledged Wednesday night he had misspoken about the ethics rules.

The Senate leader also has decided not to take free boxing seats in the future even though he still believes it was ethical to do so in 2004 and 2005, Reid's office said.

"In light of questions that have been raised about the practice, Senator Reid will not accept these kinds of credentials in the future in order to avoid even the faintest appearance of impropriety," spokesman Jim Manley said.

SPB, I appreciated your comments about "keeping the faith" Yes, I remember reading the PJF comments that things would get rough. And they are! What is getting to me is that the corruption and filth is every where you turn. And it seems to all be connected. I believe that most of us are basically decent, honest human beings, but it looks like the villains are in control now. Dislodging them will be dangerous, messy business. They won't quit just because they are caught. Look how they carry on even now, with their cover almost blown. Dirty, dirty, dirty.
People who will stand up for truth are the only hope we have. There is almost something Shakespearean about current events, except that it is happening in real life, it's happening in each of our lives, whether we choose to pay attention or not. Again, thanks for your thoughts and the reminder.

Plame's outing as a CIA officer was what led to Fitzgerald's investigation. He set out to discover whether administration officials knowingly revealed Plame's connection to the CIA.

It is unclear whether that would actually have been a crime, and in fact, no one has been accused by the special prosecutor of doing that.

Libby was indicted on charges of perjury, making false statements and obstructing justice. In other words, Libby is charged with covering up something that may or may not be a crime.

Novak Selectively Edits Report to Defend Big Oil

"Robert Novak’s column today is devoted to attacking an upcoming California ballot initiative, the Clean Alternative Energy Initiative, which would impose a severance tax on California oil producers to create a $4 billion investment fund “to help advance clean energy technologies.”
The thrust of Novak’s argument is that the initiative will harm California’s economy. For instance, he warns Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) against endorsing the measure since “it will be hammered home for the next five months that the oil initiative will mean higher prices and a slower economy.” Novak justifies this conclusion by citing a report by California’s nonpartisan Legislative Analyst Elizabeth Hill:
"[According to the report, the] severance tax could reduce property tax, income tax and gasoline tax revenues. The report continued that the tax “could result in a reduction in economic activity reflected . . . in a reduction in jobs.”

"But Novak leaves off the critical last few words of that sentence. Here’s the actual report:
To the extent that the measure reduces investment in oil production, the measure could result in a reduction in economic activity, reflected, for example, in a reduction in jobs and/or capital purchases related to the oil industry."

The Gerbil and company are more of Oedipus the King. The Prophet told Oedipus would kill his father and marry his mother. He ignored the prophet and tried to run away from that prediction. And what does he do? Exactly what the prophet told him which sealed Oedipus' fate. In the Gerbil's case, you reap what you sow. You do wrong and it comes back to bite you. That is what is happening to the Gerbil and company. The house of cards are falling. Everything comes with a price whether it is for success or for failure. And the Gerbil is paying the price for his failure. He never learn the word: change. The Gerbil and Dead Eye Dick are similar to the two mice named Hem and Haw from the book by Dr. Spencer Johnson named "Who moved my cheese?" Hem and Haw didn't want to change their course of getting the cheese which represent the changes that person wants in life or professionally. Both the Gerbil and Cheney are like those two mice depicted in the book. They both stayed the same course which ended up to their demise. Hopefully, the Amercian people can alter that course that we have been on for 5 years on 6/6/6/ and in November!

To add on to what Roger and others have stated and proven, it really is that bad.

This controversy has erupted because certain individuals are covering up mass treason, and are true neocons.

"First, I'd like to address the accusation that I'm some kind of "troll," that I "love being derogatory to Democrats," etc. This charge is incomprehensible to me. I don't feel I have to prove my bona fides to anybody in this regard, but perhaps in these overheated days, I do. I published my first piece attacking right-wing Republicans in 1978 -- before many of commenters here were even born, I'm sure. I first attacked, in print, the rise of the fanatical, politicized "Christian Right" and its growing symbiosis with the Republican Party in 1982. For almost 30 years, I have been denouncing, in print, in public, this nightmare hard-right movement that has slowly consumed our Republic and now reached its apotheosis in the Bush II administration. To those readers who accuse me of being a troll, of "loving to be derogatory to Democrats," I can only say: what have you been doing to combat the right-wing for the past 30 years? When did you start speaking out against it, putting your neck on the line in public? Or do you confine yourself only to snarky web comments, under pseudonyms, against anyone who offends your refined sensibilities?

And one more word to those accusers: I support the constitutional Republic of the United States before any political party. And although I have never voted for any candidate who wasn't a Democrat -- and this will be my 30th* year of voting -- when I see the leadership of the Democratic Party acting in ways that aid and abet the destruction of the Republic, then by God, I will denounce them for it, and make no apologies for doing so.

Second, I'd like to address the Jason Leopold controversy, since that was drawn into the accuasations against me and probably contributed to the banning as well. In this regard, let me first clear up the quite frankly stupid accusations about me and Rich Kastelein (Ghandi). Rich is the webmaster at the blog I write, Empire Burlesque. He emailed me about the Jason Leopold controversy at Kos; I sent him a response, then did a quick comment, buried miles deep on an existing Kos thread that I thought was an appropriate venue. Maybe it was the wrong thread, I don't know, or maybe I should have put it in a diary; I could never really get a firm grasp on the somewhat Byzantine court etiquette at DK. (But then again, as an American living in England, I have a hard time getting a firm grasp on the social niceties here as well.)

But that's it. That's the extent of the "pseudo-lefty conspiracy" that was bruited by some Kos commenters, who came up with a new axis of evil: Leopold, Kastelein and Floyd. According to these febrile minds, Rich and I are actually one person, deviously posting under separate names, all to do the bidding of the Great Satan in Santa Monica, Leopold, acting as his "sock puppets." One excitable commenter even suggested that both Rich and I were fictitious creatures, fronts being used by Leopold himself.

I'm sorry these anonymous snark-puppies got themselves all het up, but none of this is true.
I simply wrote my own opinon of the Leopold matter. I've never met Jason Leopold, know him only by his work. And my comments dealt solely with his story about the Rove indictment and what I believe is the overreaction to it. Let me state it again: It seems to me that even in the worst-case scenario for the Leopold story, all you would have is that an investigative reporter got burned by his sources. This happens to every reporter; even Sy Hersh has been burned spectacularly on a few occasions. Again, the level of anger and personal animus at Leopold is incomprehensible to me. If the sources were wrong, either unwittingly or deliberately, then the story was wrong. This is an occupational hazard of journalism. Why this should result in such vitriolic personal attacks on Leopold is something I can't fathom.

Also, every single element of the Plame story and the Fitzgerald investigation has played out very slowly, with the truth emerging only months, even years later. Why should we assume that the denial of Rove's lawyer simply settles the matter? Why not let it play out and see what happens? Why this rush to pillory an investigator just because his story made some very powerful people uncomfortable for a minute or two? Yet the Kos FAQ now ranks Leopold with Lyndon LaRouche. I have to say -- and it gives me absolutely no pleasure to say it -- that some of these reactions remind me of old-time Soviet campaigns against someone who has departed from the established line. It was never enough simply to disagree, or to criticize in a rational fashion (e.g., "I think Jason has overstepped the mark here; perhaps his sources haven't given him reliable information; let's hold our fire on this story until we can learn more"); no, the target had to be personally smeared, banished, erased from the discourse. Maybe this doesn't bother other people, but it bothers me.

Anyway, that's the extent of the "conspiracy." Rich told me about the Leopold controversy; I posted my own, honest opinion of the affair, made no claims of secret insider knowledge about it; indeed, based most of my comment on what I considered to be the worst-case scenario: that Leopold was wrong. And I offered these opinions – as I have done for 30 years – in my own name, aboveboard, in public. For this, I've been transformed into a "troll," a conspirator, a pseudo-lefty (whatever the hell that is), a sock-puppet controlled by nefarious forces, etc. This isn't political discourse or honest debate; this is childish nonsense.

But perhaps I'm in the wrong. And I mean that sincerely. Perhaps I have been laboring under a misapprehension about the nature and purpose of the Kos community. I assumed that Daily Kos was a community devoted to dissent against the status quo -- against the manifold depredations of the Bush Regime, and also against the prevailing attitudes of quietism, corporatism and collusion that have characterized the Democratic leadership in general during the Bush years. Indeed, Kos himself and the larger DK community have earned a reputation as offering a viable alternative to the outmoded and obviously unsuccessful DLC philosophy. Therefore, based on these assumptions -- which I believe are sound -- I further assumed that my style of dissent against these same Bush depredations and Democratic failings would be welcome in the Kos community. Not that I expected or wanted everyone to agree with me on every point, but I never thought that either the style or the content of my writings would be considered beyond the pale. "

http://www.chris-floyd.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=673

Chris Floyd is just one of many who has been subjected to the harsh, and unwarranted accusations of the DailyKOS and other neocon strongholds which pretend to be fair or "balanced."

The truth is of course, its a sham. The neocon epidemic is sanctioned and upheld by the AIPAC in both parties.

All because of a false and crudely decadent belief in Zionism, our political system is in tatters.

None of the neocons are telling the truth, and all of them are out to cover up the real crimes and protect Israel or anything associated.

They are all over the place, and the neocon trolls even attack here now as they have nowhere left to hide.

Consumer, Environmental Fury Kicks Off Exxon Meeting
Reuters
Wednesday 31 May 2006
Dallas - Simmering consumer fury over soaring gasoline prices and angst over Exxon Mobil Corp.'s environmental policies converged on a Dallas symphony hall on Wednesday as the company kicked off its annual shareholders' meeting.
A normally raucous affair teeming with protesters, angry shareholders and police officers, Exxon's meeting has drawn more attention than usual this year. About 60 protesters stood outside the meeting hall in downtown Dallas, beating drums and chanting slogans like, "Exxon gets rich while U.S. soldiers die" and "No planet, no dividends."

"As shareholders, we are outraged that executives are using soaring gas prices, which are hitting consumers at the pump, to fatten their own wallets," Moore said in a statement. "As an owner of the company, we would like to fire these directors for not doing their jobs and giving away our money."

ETHICS -- FEDERAL INVESTIGATORS PROBE LOBBYIST TIED TO HOUSE APPROPRIATIONS CHAIRMAN: Federal investigators have served San Bernardino County with a request for records related to the county's contract with a top D.C. lobbying firm tied to Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-CA). (The investigation is apparently an extension of the bribery investigation that ensnared convicted former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham.) The lobbying firm, Copeland Lowery Jacquez Denton & White, is owned by Bill Lowery, a lobbyist with close ties to Lewis. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics (CREW) has pointed out that 37 percent of the $1.3 million raised over the past six years by Lewis, the chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, is connected to Lowery's firm. Copeland Lowery clients have collected more than $100 million in grants in return. "[S]ources confirmed on condition of anonymity that the FBI has served county officials with a request for all records, files and e-mails pertaining to Lowery's firm."

Based on page 80 from "Madam Secretary: A Memoir" by Madeleine Albright, Rice started out as a music major in college but switched to international relations after taking a class with Albright's father, Korbel. She became his favorite student.

My opinion starts here: Obviously the Korbel family had connections! I have to slightly disagree with Kit a little, because Rice did not completely come from nowhere. She had connections. She was getting groomed years ago, away from the spotlight and the association with Korbel really opened many doors for her. I remember her being in the news from as far back as the middle 1990s. It just looked like Rice came from nowhere--people were helping her out behind the scenes.

As far as Rice looking up to Bush . . . Well, often one never knows what many people really think about their boss until that boss retires or quits. We do not know yet what is going in Rice's head (of course not until she retires and writes her memoirs).

Final posting:

From TalkLeft:

Reporting Lies
by TChris

"Dan Froomkin makes an important point today about the inability of the traditional news media to call a lie "a lie" -- at least when it's spoken by President Bush.
Lying is probably the one word mainstream journalists are the most averse to using when recounting what the president said -- even when they know he's not telling the truth."

Hello??? Many journalists in the media can't call a spade a spade because they either in the backpockets of the Gerbil or they suffer from Orwellian syndrome!

Enjoy your evening folks! Signing off!

Folks,

Now we know why the Gerbil's new Treasury Secretary, Henry Paulsen, is put into that position. From WSJ:

Law Blog Breaking News: The Rich Get Richer
Posted by Peter Lattman

"If Hank “The Hammer” Paulson is confirmed as Treasury Secretary, a little-known tax break in the IRS code could save the Goldman Sachs CEO at least $48 million.
Section 1043 of the Internal Revenue Code allows White House employees who are forced to sell stock for conflict-of-interest reasons to defer paying capital gains tax, so long as the proceeds are reinvested in government bonds, diversified index funds or other similar instruments. The provision, passed under the watchful eye of our first President Bush, is intended to “minimize the burden of government service” resulting from required stock sales.
If CEO Paulson becomes Secretary Paulson, he’ll have to put his gajillions of Goldman stock into a blind trust and then likely be forced to dump his GS shares to avoid conflicts. The majority of Paulson’s sales, which would be considered capital gains, will never be taxed."

And more on the NY Tines:

"Mr. Paulson's 3.23 million shares of Goldman stock are worth more than $495 million, based on the most recent regulatory filings and yesterday's closing price of $153.55 a share. (This does not include the value of his restricted stock units and options, which are generally taxed as ordinary income, not capital gains.)"

"Assuming conservatively that the most of those shares have a cost basis at or below the initial offering price of $53, he would have roughly $325 million in capital gains, said Brian Foley, an independent compensation consultant in White Plains. Deferring the 15 percent federal tax results in the $48 million break."
"If he simply retired, he would be able to actively manage that account in a robust way," Mr. Foley said. "If it goes into a blind trust, it will be managed more conservatively. There is a price for the break, and the bottom line is he is giving up the ability to control the investment of those funds."

"Even so, Mr. Paulson has President Bush's father to thank for the assistance. The special tax deferral was inserted into the Ethics Reform Act of 1989 after the first President Bush urged Congress to pass new laws addressing the significant tax disincentive the required sales seemed to have on high-level executives moving into federal jobs."
"Other White House officials have probably benefited from the provision. Commerce Secretary Donald L. Evans and Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld sold part of their holdings before moving into government."

Folks,

More on the DHS slashing funds in NYC. What is amazing is that those funds were being funneled to the Gerbil's base: one is his brother and another one is Tracy Henke, in charge with DHS grant making:

From Thinkprogress:

"Tracy Henke, who is in charge of DHS's grant-making, tried to justify her decision by bringing up her small-town upbringing in Missouri: "People come to Washington and they forget where they came from and they think all knowledge, all information, all good ideas generate in the marble buildings of Washington, D.C.," she argued. "Guess what? Not true. Not true at all. I'm very fortunate, I come from a very small town in Missouri." Henke didn't forget Missouri in her grant-making -- both St. Louis and Kansas City, two cities in Henke's home state, received boosts in funds, as did "the horses of Louisville, the cattle of Omaha and five cities in Jeb Bush's Florida."

Folks,

I went on the international news. I found this article that in the Peru news. I wanted to know some of their reportings of the U.S. news. I translated in English some excerpts of the article:

"Mensaje a Berlín: El nuevo Hitler es Bush
por Eduardo Galeano*, Altercom*"

In English and excerpts of the article:

"Message to Berlin: The new Hitler is Bush by Eduardo Galeano*, Altercom* they Asked al astronaut how was seen the land since the moon, and responded: 'Fragile'. Also it said that is seen without any division of nations. The life that there is in her, says Leonardo Boff, is the greater flowering of the evolutionary process, and today is threatened, and from there the urgency to take care of. I congratulate them you met in a Congress by the peace in Berlin, and as has been asked me officially a message by be not able to be there present, them shipment this: As well as in a time the cause of the wars was Hitler, now the cause of the wars is Bush. In a Congress as that of you would be a hypocrite not to tell it. Bush has declared that rules out no weapon. Therefore neither the nuclear one. In fact has used weapons of massive destruction to fight the weapons of massive destruction of Iraq (that did not exist). The major terrorism of state is that of United States, has said the American one Noam Chomsky."

"Already before Martin Luther King had said that his government was the major producer of violence in the world. United States he has invaded 216 countries (among them mine) and already time ago that Mark Twain had said that its flag instead of the bars and the stars should be that of the bones crusaders and the skull. With Bush is worse, because the president has himself placed above the Constitution, and above national and international every law. The governments of Europe should require that United States report on the secret jails that has in Europe, and the use of the European airports to transfer prisoners to countries where is practiced routinely the torture: as they have denounced it media of American press, among them the Washington Post. There are eight foreign countries with secret jails U.S., has said the same one Post. Amnesty international has spoken of the gulags U.S. and has said that one of these gulags is that of Guantánamo. All the human rights are violated there, and all the international laws, in a territory where United States does not have the right to be, and the only fact to visit it is illegal."

"In Guantánamo one of the interrogators a called adolescent told Mohamed: 'This field is for the ones that they are going to be here for always. Do not you think that will return some time to your house. You will be here all your life. You do not worry, we will maintain you alive so that suffer more'. This youth has said: 'Before I had hope. Now that I have come to Guantánamo I have lost every hope'. (This I have taken it of the American one Catholic Worker)."

"We do not deny that Bin Laden and Al-Queda they be satanic. But we can neither deny that both were creation U.S. during their clash with the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. MYSELF am according to Gunter Grass that 'the terrorism only can be fought with more economic justice'.

"There is a Salmo that says: 'The justice and the peace kiss'. Is because the justice and the peace are meetings. There is not justice without peace, neither peace without justice. Ours arms against the war is the humanism, considering as said Martí that the Country is the Humanity. The war is the greater threat of this planet of the solar system. And the human species is a species in danger of extinction."

"I finalize saying with the German theologian Karl Rahner that the human body is sacred. It is sacred because was created by God as all the religions of the land they believe it, and created with all their functions, even their sexuality. And besides because, like we believe the Christians, in the human body the Verb was done meat. We defend the peace and the justice, and we defend the human bodies."

Building an army one by one for sure. You know, if an African-American woman named Rosa Parks had the guts to refuse to sit in the back of the bus in 1955, cause other people to boycott on riding that bus for a year, and bankrupted the busline from that plan of action to send an important message, then what is the problem with many of the Americans to send an important message back to the Gerbil Administration to take back their country? Many of the American people need a checkup from the neckup and revisit the history of one woman who made a difference in life and impacted others all because of a decision that she made in 1955 that changed everyone's lives in a positive way forever.

Folks,

I like to introduce to you a man that is running for Congress who is: a BIGAMIST!:

A California Republican running for congress was also a bigamist, according to a report in today's San Diego Union-Tribune.

An excerpt follows:
#
"Republican Jim Galley, who is running for Congress as a "pro-traditional family" candidate, was married to two women at the same time, defaulted on his child support payments and has been accused of abuse by one of his ex-wives."

"Galley married his second wife, Beth, in 1982 when, unbeknownst to her, he was still married to his first wife, Terry. Beth and Galley divorced in 1990 after she sought a restraining order alleging abuse.
The child support was owed to his first wife."

And they have a hell of lot of nerve to talk about family values???

Basheert,

I did see the images on Raw Stroy. I didn't want to post that story because of the senstivity of certain bloggers whom have children overseas or to bloggers that may have children. It was very horrifying to see those images for those children being murdered. I have a real sensitive side to me when it comes to children. That is an outright brutal murder.. I just don't think that the Gerbil will last long in office. This is the straw that broke the camel's back. The American people would be really sensative to these photos!

Yeah, I did read on Rick Scrotum's bull about the Gay Marriage Amendment.. And he is another knucklehead that will not get in office... An old saying: be careful what you wish for. Those same folks that he is against may be the decision factor for him getting into office!

"Perhaps 'As The Stomach Turns' starring the Global Oaf and KindaSleazy Toofies of Emelda" That's a good name for all the bullshit in which we read about the Gerbil, his antics, and some of the smurf's antics with Fitz. Or maybe "Search for Indictments" or "One Gerbil to Remove" (a new version of One Life to Live) or the new daytime reality soap opera about a Special Prosecutor named Patricizzle J. Fitzcizzle who fights for truth and justice against the notorious criminal: "Seven Fingers Smurf" called "The Old and the Bullshit" which certainly describes the smurf's case!
