Jackie--you are so insighful! Yesterday on TV I saw Kelly O'Donnell interview VP Cheney. Here is a transcript, but I heard "Will you complete your term?" but the official transcript has "will" and "you" reversed. I am pretty certain of what I heard because I about fell out of my chair laughing.

I saw that interview too... I would have asked Dead Eye Cheney three questions if I had interviewed Cheney:
1. "Mr. Cheney, are your poll numbers (18%) represent the borrowed time that you have on this earth for all the graft that you have done in the past 5 years?"
2. " Mr. Cheney, when you are going to return all of that money that you stole from Halliburton and return it to the public?"
3. "Mr. Cheney, are you going to say 'no' to graft? If not, when?"

I suppose they had a lot of practice because their are so many grafters..they fill the whole court room, hallways..WH etc waiting to be indicted...

When Soon-To-Be-Prisoner George Ryan knew he was in the crosshairs of getting caught, he tried to absolve himself of his sins by letting the bad guys out of Death Row in Illinois. It will be interesting to see what (if anything) the VP and any of these folks do to absolve themselves of their sins.

That is interesting what you said about Gov. Ryan. I did read that he let out the prisoners on Death Row to boost his reputation on a the plus side... As far as Cheney, he is different from Ryan. Cheney is a business man even though he holds a title as VP. From looking at him from a corporate standpoint, I think Cheney's friends only supports him from a business sense. Once Cheney is indicted, his corporate buddies and Halliburton will bail out on him... Business is no different from politics. When a corporate person is on top, everybody loves that person. But, when that corporate person falls, and Cheney will fall, then all of sudden you start to not have friends... as far as Cheney gaining support from the public, forget it.. As I talked about leadership and a servant, Cheney never won support from the public since he got in office. The people in which Cheney has to rely on is his business friends for support. And business mixed with politics make strange bedfellows... Thanks for sharing...
