2 in CIA to testify Libby lied and lied on leak
WASHINGTON - Two top CIA officials will bolster prosecutors' charge that Vice President Cheney's chief aide lied to them, court papers show.
Handsome prosecutors say disgraced Cheney chief of staff Lewis (Scooter) Libby learned CIA spy Valerie Plame's identity from, among others, agency officials who will be called to testify at his trial for perjury, false statements and obstruction of justice. [more]

Hey wait! I don't see "handsome" in the original story. I think those NY reporters are jaded by too many George Clooney sightings or something. From now on, I mandate every mention of the Very Special Prosecutor should be preceded by "handsome" or "hot" or "cuddly-wuddly."

Ummm... The Smurf and Porkrind together.. Makes me want to cry... And it is funny that you posted the article. I just watched MSNBC with David Schuster. Porkrind claims Gilligan's defense just like the little soldier soldier smurf.. Seems the coconut falls on a crook's head when he gets caught.. And this new course by Libby called Lying 101 really caught up with the little soldier.. He should have took the plea bargain.. He sure is the loser on this stick and his lawyers walk away with free milk money from a losing case...

So, Libby was not being exactly truthful about when and how he learned about Valerie Plame, and he really did ferret out this information to use it maliciously? Is he still claiming memory deficits?
Well, I suppose the defense will now launch an attack on the credibility of the CIA employees who testified. Logical next move, I guess. Those defense attorneys are making lots of money. Good thing. Libby probably won't need that money while he serves his time.

SPB, I can picture you crying about the Smurf and Porkrind together, and that brings tears to my eyes ;)! Well, if Libby wants to keep paying his lawyers, hey, it's still a free country, he can do that. He can donate all his $ to his losing case.
And the best is yet to come....courtesy of those handsome prosecutors.

Anon at 2:12 pm: I'm all chocked up about it. I had to blow my nose to your comments. Excuse me while I get a tissue to wipe my tear from eye about the Smurf and Porkrind.. so sad... so sad... Anyway, if the little soldier is going give away all that dough to his attorneys, he should forward some of the money to the new DOJ Say 'no' to Graft scholarship and the GERBIL 101 ethics class for new upcoming DOJ rookies...

I see yet another great day on this "foe" blog.. Good on ya.

As for the evil-doers .. please let us know Rove's sec clearance has been stripped.

Having him still muck around on 'non-policy' policies, is well

quite disturbing.

Did note the rhetoric on Iran has been reduced to white noise.

All Good.

As for your very best Tuesday?

Still young in the day to have a press conference notice be distributed to UPI and AP networks.

All Good.

Fabulous and Brilliant!

Roger,

The Gerbil can't spell his name for goodness sake.. Probably when he has a few suds he probably signs Laura's name instead of his!

Not surprising that CIA agents would be willing to testify as the agency has lost about 50 per cent of it's employees. PBS had a former CIA agent who stated Porter Gross fired most agents and even those who questioned the President's ciminal orders. General Hayden said it would take about 15 to 20 years to get the CIA to function correctly. As the President gave the ok to release covert agent Plames name while she was still working in Iran I guess other agents felt their names could be leaked. So much for National Security.

Hi buddy I just read the article you recommended and there is a slight problem with the truth or opinion of it. Fitz's boss is David Morgolis not the person stated in the article. Now if Chris Matthews is making opinions of seal vs seal at lease he should try to find out just who Fitzgerlds boss is and not just use any name. I did notice that at lease the writter admitted that Rove is indicted. By the way the Grand Jury indicted Rove not the Judge and the grand jury only found probable cause to go to trial. Rove is innocent until proven guilty.

Do you think Laura will eventually kill George? She has a bad habit of doing that you know.

Bubby,

Not true! Not true at all! I went to article late last night.. Now, this morning, the article was removed from dailykos website.. There is no documentation regarding Gonzales killing this case.. So, keep informed on the blog because the court documents and articles in which Fitz posts are public information...
