TIME's Man of the Year..!

moi?
From the email bag Jodee sends me this message:
You DA MAN! Time magazine has an article asking former Men of the Year who they think should be this year's Man of the Year. ("Patrick! Patrick! He's our man! If he can't do it ...!")
JAMES LOVELL 1968 One of three Apollo 8 astronauts, pioneers on the epic quest for the moon - "I suggest special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald. In this age of cover-ups, political intrigue, corporate greed and not knowing whom to believe, it is refreshing to see a person who searches for and uncovers misdeeds, unencumbered by any partisanship."
Many thanks Jimbo, but I didn't make the list for voting, darn!
Who Should Be Person of the Year? TIME's Person of the Year is the person or persons who most affected the news and our lives, for good or for ill, and embodied what was important about the year. Who do you think fits the bill this year?
Steve Jobs
Pope Benedict XVI
Bill and Melinda Gates
The Google Guys
J.K. Rowling
Rick Warren
Condoleezza Rice
Valerie Plame
Bono
Mother Nature
George W. Bush
Lance Armstrong
It is hard to compete with an iPod pusher, Condi "Ferragamo" Rice and two bicyclists from Texas.

Anybody but Bush! There are so many great candidates on the list that affect our lives this year for more of the good than the bad. I would have to choose Valerie Plame (she may not want to be chosen) because she is just ordinary woman (non-celebrity) who is the key to the total corruption and destruction of the Bush Administration. Her name will be in the history books for the President.

Is that the real list? Who has had the greatest effect on our lives? Lance Armstrong? Every morning I wake up and think about the Tour de France....or Harry Potter creating little evil Pagans, or Condi and her evil shoes...well there is probably something going on behind the scenes with the charming Oil Tanker.

From the list I would say Mother nature, but she's just reacting to George Bush's evil environmental ways - that's according to Pat Robertson's method of measuring God's wrath and anger. So Dubya is the man of the year in the most damaging and dubious way. Anyway reading Time Magazine is like Cliff Notes.

My vote if it ever counted would still go for you.

I voted for Mother Nature.

The list was good but sometimes great people don't see what we see. Most American hero or great ones get that title when their dead. Fitz you didn't ask for it but you were blessed to be the person to clean house and give America back to Americans. I know your not into the spot light thing but you are the man of 2005. The highest power made that choice and you have to just accept it. None of us know what our futures are like Bubba this is just part of the blessing we've prayed for.

I vote for Cindy Sheehan. Her dignified vigil outside of Bush's ranch asking only for answers about why her son died brought the media's attention to a War where discourse was discouraged.

The Valerie Plame disclosure was an offshot of that.

Others felt this way but she did something about it. She therefore impacted war coverage and built the platform upon which we all stand.

I vote for Jack Murtha.

Mother Nature isn't a person! Is she? If she is, why is she so pissed?

If I had to vote for the person who has the biggest effect on MY life, it would be Steve Jobs. I'm typing on my Mac, listening to my iPod and browsing with Safari. Thank you Steve Jobs!

However, JK Rowling made me cry. And Patrick J. Fitzgerald made me smile.

It's an arguable point, but I feel the hurricanes et al are not really Mother Nature but global warming and other man made neglects. Certainly New Orleans under water is a disaster made of disinterest - in infratructure and in the plight of poor blacks.

Therefore I don't think Mother Nature did much at all except perhaps cry at how she's being blamed for corporate greed and too many SUV drivers.

There appears to be a belief among idiots that as long as we're fighting a war for oil rights we therefore have the right to use all the oil we can.

Or is that oil company - read Halliburton - PR machine, getting us hooked on gas monsters and then waging war to cause shortages which then begat higher prices?

Time's person of the year should be someone who stands up to the status quo when it's so dangerously wrong. Yes, PJF, you definitely qualify. However, you are at least on salary while Cindy Sheehan is not. (A minor distinction between my heroes but why I vote for her.)

Serval names should be added to the Time list which was left out. These should be taken into consideration: Tom DeLay, All of the hurricanes that hit this year, Bin Laden (since we cannot find him), Homer Simpson, and Michael Brown (ex-FEMA) for showing the blunder by the Administration of hiring non-qualified employees.. As a side note, I do agree that Cindy Sheehan should be nominated.

They really should have 2 Person of the Year winners. The Good and the Bad. Like Goofus and Gallant. Do's and Don'ts.

Well this year could go to The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly. YOu can interchange any of the the following for the Bad and Ugly : Cheney, Libby, Rove, Dubya of course, Rummy, Delay, Hastert, Delay, Delay, Dubya, Abramoff, Cunningham..I know I'm forgetting some...did I forget Delay?

Kit's analysis is always so compact and on the money. Yes Cindy Sheehan should definitely be on that list. My drothers? A toss up between Fitz and Sheehan for The Good, of course.

La Mujer del ano - Senora Sheehan.

Lo Mas Feo - La Familia Bush = Padre George H, Madre Barbara, todos sus hijos, sus primos y primas, y los que van a nacer.
Son diablos - todos!

ok from the list I picked JK Rowling because she helped American children want to read again. I really don't understand how Connie Rice got on the list. Connie only follows what Bush tells her and so far nothing is successful. She is just holding a title. Maybe she should have asked Powell to train her for the job.

VALERIE PLAME . . .

DAMN.
If not for her, Joe Wilson, and the Eliott Ness of our lifetime PJF, we'd be one lost nation.

Valerie Plame signifies the depth of misery the Administration has bequeathed to this nation [uhm, a deficit comes to mind vs a surplus for starters]; no less the Axis of Evil within the very White House itself: BUSH, CHENEY and ROVE.

As PJF: I'm hoping you've just got the scratch of the surface with the insolent Libby and you'll discover and prove, the man sitting in the very chair itself, was a part of this conspiracy.

The BS this Administration has spun no less from every orifice of other parts of the Govt [FEMA, Dept of Defense/Rummy] is just plain despicable, deplorable and they all need to GO DOWN.

...ITS BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE FITMAS, EVERY WHERE YOU GO ....
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My vote is for you Mr. Fitzgerald. You really have opened the eyes of many Americans about many things. You are a very rare individual. It is not everyday you come across someone such as yourself who can distinquish between right or wrong.

Many of my fellow Republicans have been telling me in private over the weekend at my state's fall convention that Bush has failed us. They are afraid to say this out loud.

One person told me Friday evening that I was wrong for feeling this way about the President and that it is the media's doing. I said to him just because I am a Republican it doesn't mean that I have to agree with everything that my party says and does.

Well, I better start fixing my resume. I better start kissing my appointed state position goodbye in a year. After all this is the State of Maryland and the voters will vote Democratic regardless on bad the state Dems are. I hate to be a realist. Bush is going to hurt my Governor's reelection chances. That is unfortunate because the gov has been doing a great job of cutting the state budget which was left by our previous Gov. I am hope that I am wrong about this, but I am going to take it one day at a time.

Bombs explode on roads outside Madrid

Five small bombs exploded on roads close to the Spanish capital Madrid today, news reports said.

The daily newspaper El Mundo said no one was injured in the blasts and there was little damage, El Mundo’s website reported.

The report said police were searching for more devices following a warning call from the armed Basque group ETA that five devices had been planted.

Mine was for Jack Murtha.

Out of all the politicians in government, its nice to know there's one or two who isn't corrupt. Murtha is not just the true blue-red republican, democrat....he is a proud war veteran.

And he speaks only whats on his mind, without pulling any punches. Jack Murtha is man of the year.

DEAR PROSECUTOR MR. PATRICK FITZGERALD, SIR I HAVE HEARD THAT NO ONE GETS TO THE BOTTOM OF THE TRUTH LIKE YOU DO. SIR, I AM APPEALING TO YOU TO CONTACT THE SUPREME COURT AND ASK THEM TO MAKE BARACH OBAMA SHOW HIS VAULT REAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE(EVEN IF IT IS FROM KENYA LIKE HIS GRANDMOTHER SAID ON TAPE) AND HIS PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP(EVEN IF IT IS INDONESIAN CITIZENSHIP FROM YOUR MOTHER MARRYING LOLO SOTERO AND NAMEING YOU BARRY SOTERO AND MAKING YOU AN INDONESIAN CITIZEN) BEFORE DEC. 15TH EHRN THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE VOTES AND WE PUT A USURPER IN THE OFFICE OF OUR PRESIDENT. I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING ATTORNEY PHILBERG'S WEBSITE FOR THREE MONTHS NOW SIR. HIS WEBSITE IS obamacrimes.com HE TOOK BARACH OBAMA TO COURT IN PHILADELPHIA FIRST AND ASKED HIM TO PROVE HIS ELLIGIBILITY TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES ACCORDING TO OUR CONSTITUTION. BARACK OBAMA SHOWED THE JUDGE NOTHING, HE JUST HAD HIS LAWYERS GET THE CASE DISMISSED SAYING THAT ATTORNEY BERG HAD NO STANDING TO VERIFY THAT BARACH OBAMA IS OR IS NOT ELLIGIBLE FOR THE PRESIDENCY. ATTORNEY BERG APPEALED HIS CASE TO THE SUPREME COURT. HE HAS GOT CONCRETE EVIDENCE THAT OBAMA WAS BORN IN KENYA NOT HAWAII. HE ALSO HAS A REPORT FROM A COMPUTER IMAGE FORENSIC EXPERT WHO SAYS THAT THE ONLINE BIRTH CERTIFICATE IS A PHONY. SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN SHOWED HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE,MEDICAL RECORDS ON THE FIRST DAY IN COURT. IT HAS BEEN 30 DAYS NOW AND BARACH OBAMA HAS SHOWN NOTHING TO THE SUPREME COURT. JUSTICE SOUTER DISMISSED BERG'S APPEAL TO STAY THE DEC. 15 ELECTORAL VOTES. WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THE SUPREME COURT. WHY WON'T PRESIDENT BUSH TELL THE KENYA AMBASSADOR TO RELEASE BARACH OBAMA'S BIRTH RECORDS FROM KENYA. HE TOLD ATTORNEY BERG'S ASSISTANT THAT OBAMA'S BIRTH RECORDS ARE TOP SECRET. BARACH OBAMA COULD GET THEM RELEASED BUT NO ONE IS MAKING HIM. THE DNC JUST PASSED HIM RIGHT THROUGH. ANOTHER WEBSITE IS WWW.americasright.com that is following all THE COURT CASES TRYING TO GET OBAMA TO SHOW HIS REAL BIRTH CRTIFICATE AND worldnetdaily.com has sent 60,000 LETTERS TO THE SUPREME COURT TO ALLOW ATTORNEY BERG TO PRESENT HIS CASE ABOUT BARACH OBAMA NOT BEING A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN. OUR CONSTITUTION SAYS THAT YOU HAVE TO BE A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN TO BE PRESIDENT. JUST TODAY I HEARD BILL RICHARDSON TALKING TO SOME LATINO PEOPLE AND HE SAID BARACH OBAMA IS AN IMMIGRANT TOO. IF HE NEVER WENT THROUGH IMMIGRATION ON HIS ENTRANCE TO THE UNITED STATES, THEN OUR PRESIDENT ELECT IS AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT. PLEASE SIR, I HEARD DAVID AXELROD SAY ON ABC THAT OBAMA HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH BLAGOVAVICH HIS GOVERNOR ON NOV.23. THEN I HEARD OBAMA SAY YESTERDAY ON SEAN HANNITY'S SHOW THAT HE HAD NOT BEEN IN CONTACT WITH HIS GOVERNOR AT ALL. MAYBE SOMEONE IN HIS OFFICE HAD BEEN THOUGH. I THINK OBAMA IS LYING ABOUT HIS GOVERNOR AND HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND CITIZENSHIP. PLEASE CONTACT THE SUPREME COURT OR THE PRESIDENT OR VICE PRESIDENT OR SOMEONE WHO CAN MAKE BARACH OBAMA SHOW HIS VAULT BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. CAN YOU DO IT SIR, YOU ARE A GREAT PROSECUTOR. THANK GOD FOR YOU SIR,AMERICA NEEDS MEN THAT REFUSE TO GIVE UP, UNTIL THE TRUTH IS TOLD. GOD BLESS YOU SIR,
RICK AND DOTTIE SEPELYAK
