Compost Happens...

Rotten apples don't fall too far from the tree here in DC.

I have to ask Rep. Katherine Harris (R-FL) and Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) what is worse than finding a worm in their apple? Answer: Half a worm.

Sweetheart campaign contributions totaling over $100,000 from corrupt defense contractor MZM and its former CEO Mitchell Wade (Co-conspirator in the Duke Cunningham case) might have tasted good at the time, but mixed with a little sunshine I suspect they might be finding a bad taste in their mouths right about now.

With corruption running rampant and working with limited resources at the DOJ we can only do so much -- so when people like Josh Marshall at
Talking Points Memo connect the dots I applaud them and continue to fervently support a healthy, free and investigative press.

MZM defense contractors also did $140,000 in "furniture" for the Whitehouse. What kind of furniture does a defense contractor do? Sounds fishy

Nothing would be finer than Katherine Harris getting her tits in a wringer over this.

After congressman resigns, prosecutors say case is far from over

The documents also suggest that another conspirator was Brent Wilkes, an associate of Wade's who headed a defense contracting company called ADCS Inc., which also provided campaign cash and favors to Cunningham while reaping valuable contracts. ADCS, based in the San Diego suburb of Poway, specializes in turning paper records into digital files.

Wilkes also owned a small private air carrier, Group W Transport, that flew Cunningham and other lawmakers - including former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas - to fund-raisers and other events in a Lear jet, The San Diego Union-Tribune has reported.

Were Katherine Harris and Jean Schmidt separated at birth?

Mr. Fitzgerald, if you could bust Katherine Harris, that would be just about the greatest thing since sliced bread. I mean, sure, Libby and Rove, I'd love to see them go down merely due to proximity to the president, but I despise Katherine Harris like few people in current politics, and if she became a convicted felon and went to jail, I'd throw a huge party and invite the entire country.

Can you please pro-(or per-)secute the people at Democratic Underground for banning me and stifling my free expression?

I was knocked off by someone named "Estimated Prophet" -- I can't believe people feel they have rights on these sites when they won't even use their real names.

Sam,

Give me break, you are about to be confirmed to the SCOTUS and here you are tooling around the blogosphere and getting pissy about being banned from a partisan blog?

Shouldn't you be cramming for your upcoming Senate testimony and re-working your record?

BTW, props to you for ending Condi's reign as Klingon Scrabble champ last week! And you fondue was DIVINE!

Any man cried after pleading guilty. I look at all these elected people smiling and saying how honest and honorible they are until they get caught then we get the water works. Who's next in the criminal chain? There are so many investigations it might wipe out our Congress and Senate.
