Rep. Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, yesterday sent a letter to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, demanding that he appoint the recently fired U.S. Attorney in San Diego as a special counsel so that she can continue overseeing a congressional corruption probe.
Carol Lam, appointed in 2002 as San Diego U.S. Attorney, was among at least seven U.S. attorneys recently dismissed by the Justice Department. Ms. Lam supervised the investigation and prosecution of Republican Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham, now in federal prison for soliciting bribes. That case led to related investigations, including inquiries into a businessman who also had dealings with Rep. Jerry Lewis, the California Republican who until recently was chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, and into Kyle “Dusty” Foggo, the former third-ranking official at the Central Intelligence Agency. Both individuals deny any wrongdoing.

Certanily I don't have much pull with Feingold. When I emailed him for the first time so time ago, he said to email him anytime with any issues or concern. And it doesn't matter what state you are in. He does read email. But, I guess his hot button are the Patriot Act, Domestic Spying, and the President's abuse of power. And since he is not only a Senator but also an attorney, he is certainly going to take an email or letters seriously that will add more evidence to the abuse of power by the President. But, I think more people should followup and follow through with their elected officials and be their eyes and ears for anything that the Administration does. But, he is one of the few Senators that speaks his mind and puts his words in action. That's why I stick to Feingold alot. I wrote to Feingold when the story broke about the 11 attorneys but my concern was for the U.S. attorney Cummings who was fired and then replaced with an inexperienced person connected to Rove and wasn't confirmed by the Senate. That was a red flag.
P.S.
Feingold is not going to run for POTUS. I would have wanted him to run. But, I think he made the right decision. Feingold is still a young person. And he may run in 2012. He will be under the age of 60.

TMZ.com had reported that Smith collapsed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood just after 2 p.m. ET.
According to reports, Smith was found unresponsive in her hotel room.
Wow, Ms. Smith has gone through alot: her only son dies of cardiac arrest from antidepressants, she give birth to a duaghter, and the paternity suit of involving her daughter!
RIP Ms. Smith!
Shows like "The Insider", "Extra", "Entertainment Tonight", they are all by the same producers, should be asked if they feel responsible somewhat.
These rags constantly berate, report, and blame photographers for following "stars" but fall to include themselves as the worst offenders. They also are responsible for the 'dumbing down of America'.

Now Fitz you said don't open till Fitmas well you know I opened it right. Well who is the seal person anyway. Wells did his best with Russert only to fall short again. Other witnesses all said Libby told them about Plame then comes Libby himself who says Cheney told him much earlier then so call Russert yet Russert was on vacation during Libby get the word out ordered by Cheney. If the jouranlist learned anything it should be don't trust a proven liar or a lying Administration.
On a nother matter I read that Pelosi is given a hard time about the US plane she is to have yet Hastert used it to transport kids for Fingers Foley now talk about morals and family values. Using the taxpayers US Plane to make sure Fingers Foley was supplied with kids. I'm sick.
Hastert couldn't find a Horse big enough to carry his arse so he took his suitcases and caught a jet.
Why cannot these people fly secretive on commercial planes? The buck needs to stop somewhere.

He's implying that he was given a really good deal, a plea-bargain. Maybe even immunity, so they must be going after Russert's credibility. That shouldn't be hard, either.

Yes, you're correct. Wells is trying everything to discredit Timmy.. but it's not going to happen! :)
I just love the picture of Fitz in his Santa hat, I hope his kids remind him of that picture and get the toys they want. Not every parent can be seen world wide sitting in the work place while checking the list then checking it twice.
Timmy will give his story on NBC Nightly News tonight now that his testimony is over. Libby did a great job in protecting their NBC journalist who support them and lie for them like Tweety and Tucker. Now one can only think with Libby being so up set he never ask to speak to Tweety and after his fake call to Russert he just never got around to the most important matter to him speaking to Tweety. Good way to save WH friends at NBC. I only hope the NBC Executives have taken notice of the molds in the mist.
