Real American Idols...

Let's get it started. What's on your mind - gas prices, elections, American Idol?

Speaking of American Idol, as you know, the wheels of justice move slowly, but in my office Tuesday nights at 8PM they come to a grinding halt.

I cannot believe that Chris Daughtry was in the bottom two last week, it must be a conspiracy! I might ask all of my staff in both Chicago and D.C. to work late and call in votes from 9-11PM for Chris. I calculate that roughly 200 people + redial function (10 calls per minute) x 120 minutes = 240,000 votes. That could make a big difference.

Speaking of making a difference and real American idols, I attended a wonderful luncheon today. It was for a
VERY worthy cause and the keynote speaker made an impression on me.

Afterwards I told her, "Listen up, listen up. Yo. When you started out it was just aw-ight for me. A little pitchy in a few places, went sharp in the middle, but Dude, by the end you worked it out, baby. Dawgpound we got a hot one today!"

Hillary made the speech her own and received a standing ovation because when it comes to supporting military families - there should be no politics!

Yes Military families defend a Democracy that they are not allowed to practice which makes absolutely no sense to me..
I just hope one day this issue can change..my son retired last October after a full Army career..he was in Iraq.
Your devotion to Service Families just adds more respect for what you do in your SERVICE without fear or favor to America.

Cheers!

On a different note, I just received a personal email from Jason Leopold from Truthout. He just written a book. It is available on Amazon.com. I am waiting on an answer if his book available on Barnes and Noble. Here are the details:

In NEWS JUNKIE, the cutthroat worlds of journalism, politics, and high finance are laid bare by Jason Leopold, whose addictive tendencies led him from a life of drug abuse and petty crime to become an award-winning investigative journalist who exposed some of the biggest corporate and political scandals in recent American history.

And here is an excerpt of his book:

Glad that you got the link, Teak! I have posted some time ago that Director, Robert Greenwald is releasing a movie next month about Tom DeLay. Well, I received an email for another docmentary movie in production (a perfect timing). It is called Robert's new documentary: "Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers."

IRAQ FOR SALE: The War Profiteers will hold these corporations accountable for crimes against humanity.

That is all I know for right now. I don't know the date of this movie. But, it would be funny if Mr. Greenwald could have this movie released by November!

All,

When Fitz mention we all need to read betwwen the lines of the press about the leak case, he is correct. Fitz' new buddy, William Kristol, is an example of giving misinformation:

"Kristol falsely claimed Bush "declassified most" of the NIE
Summary: On Fox News Sunday, William Kristol falsely claimed that President Bush "declassified most" of the October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) that he reportedly authorized then-vice presidential chief of staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby to leak to reporters. In fact, Libby leaked a very small, cherry-picked series of excerpts from the 90-page NIE, reportedly following Bush's authorization.
On the April 23 edition of Fox Broadcasting Co.'s Fox News Sunday, Weekly Standard editor William Kristol falsely claimed that President Bush "declassified most" of the October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) that he reportedly authorized then-vice presidential chief of staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby to leak to reporters."

And where did Kristol say this on?: Faux News! This country is in deep trouble since the new mouthpiece is Snow who happens to be from Faux. And there goes wanting fair and balanced information!

Catch this on Raw Story:
Snow: High gas fault of Rumsfeld critics

Uhm, now; does he really mean to say that...? This would mean, be critical of us and we will manipulate not only the truth [see Rove vs US -- pending]
but manipulate the markets, squeeze you, you stupid American, so I may line the wallets of the Big Oil Boys and my golden parachute when I'm -- outta here.

Outrageous.

Mr Snow is cooked before he even walks in the door. Go HELEN THOMAS!

Well, 6 miles,

Snow is already acting retarded and demanded more quality time with the Gerbil and the man hasn't gotten his feet wet in his new position. I agree about Helen Thomas and let's not forget David Gregory. I have a feeling this is bad news for the Gerbil to appoint Snow. People are irritated by Faux news and now with a new mouthpiece being from Faux, watch the Gerbil's approval ratings plummet more....

SPB - This is an Admin in free fall. David Gergen wrote a syndicated piece today about how unlikely it is that this president can bounce back. Too little too late, in terms of change. He needs to change policy and is appearing stubborn not resolute.

As much as I enjoy the plummeting poll numbers - Cheney at 18 favorable, frozen solid! - it's still a very sad time for our country. This group personifies the worst of us. It'll be a long time before we overcome the damage done.

Kit,

Yes, indeed. It is a too late for the Gerbil to bounce back. He has done some much damage control and paying hush money to ceetain people for his secret that it is now unfolding before his eyes. And Cheney never had a chance with the public. That 18% of his approval may be his percentage on staying on this earth since he is on borrowed time. Yes, it is a sad time for the country and it will take years to recover from this mess. But, think of what is positive in this world: Pat Fitzgerald. Just remember that!

About military families, I've worked in that culture. They were a cross-section of our society back then. Probably still so: the enlisted mostly in for the bootstrap, the officer class for a career, and both dedicated and loyal. They are being so badly screwed.
O/T
One of the sexiest what year? What poll? Can't find it on People Mag's web site (and would never, ever read the rag), Baby-cakes.
That said, there's a certain sweet, pudding-faced, map-of-Ireland charm physically, and the undeniably powerful magnetism of Integrity, which I hope is not compromised by this sexy-guy claim. . . or was the whole thing a snark? If so, too subtle for DOL me. I hope for snark.
Serious again: If I recall, the military oath contains the defense of the Constitution clause in the very first paragraph, which seems to make it preeminent over obedience to the CinC. Do I err?

I think I sing great but others say different. I saw Bill and Hill's pictures today nice. I also saw the Gerbil as he told more lies. Fitz where is Cheney? Not a word out of him. Is he getting his business in order and rob as much as he can before he resigns? I heard Mr. Snow got Scotty's job. Snow is really pushing it with all his demands. Josh might have hired the man who wants his job. The White House has to many chiefs and no indians and Bush with the bottle.

On second thought;
just deem the President and his corrupt rat-pack

IRRELEVANT.

The groundswell of Americans who now despise this idiot of a president is surpassing the 80% mark.

He is creating his own insurgency here in the US. Call it anger, call it what you will.

When you look at the price of gas vis a vis the minimum wage now versus 8 years ago or 15 years ago,
DO YOU THINK THE AMERICAN PUBLIC IS BETTER OFF?

HE IS INSANE. AND NOW IRRELEVANT.

He is a lame-duck president -- like a spoilt bratty 6 year old, he made his own mess and wants someone else to fix it.

Jackie,

Cheney has his Uhaul truck. He hauling away that missing stash of money and profits from Halliburton. He is puuting is dough at the Cayman Island in case Fitz indicts him!

I read your comments about Bolten and Snow. Best believe that there will be a power struggle in the Gerbil Administration. Snow's butt hasn't been warmed in the seat and now making demands and giving out orders! This reminds me of the cut throat corporate world. In corporate, when the boss wants to get rid of you, he/she puts the employee on "projects" but never change his/her title and moves him/her to new job tasks. And when the employee moves over to the new tasks, then the boss fires the employee. This reminds me of Rove. Rove may be involved overseeing the 2006 elections and still maintain his title as Presidental advisor and White Policy maker but his new task is simply a corporate word :"project." Now, Bolten better watch out for Snow. Because Snow is getting aggressive and wants more authority, he may want Bolten's job. The Gerbil should be wished that he never gotten rid of the little buckaroo McFelon from the get go. I think Snow will be the Gerbil's nightmare and seal his fate of failure to his Presidential legacy. That old saying: be careful what you wish for! And he wanted Snow!!!
