Round Up The Usual Suspects...

Prosecutors May Widen Congressional-Bribe Case
Cunningham Is Suspected Of Asking for Prostitutes; Were Others Involved?

WSJ - Federal prosecutors are investigating whether two contractors implicated in the bribery of former Rep. Randall "Duke" Cunningham supplied him with prostitutes and free use of a limousine and hotel suites, pursuing evidence that could broaden their long-running inquiry. Besides scrutinizing the prostitution scheme for evidence that might implicate contractor Brent Wilkes, investigators are focusing on whether any other members of Congress, or their staffs, may also have used the same free services, though it isn't clear whether investigators have turned up anything to implicate others.
In recent weeks, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents have fanned out across Washington, interviewing women from escort services, potential witnesses and others who may have been involved in the arrangement. [continued]
I just made a phone call and directed the special agents to widen their probe to include male prostitutes (former GOP WH "reporter" Jeff "Bulldog" Gannon and Transexuals in particular) and to cross reference anti-gay Congressional voting records and statements to help narrow the list. Over the years, I have learned that if their panties are in a bunch over gay rights, they usually are...
And in case you are wondering, Duke is immune from further prosecution because technically any acts between him and another sex worker is categorized as professional courtesy.

Oh my...if the neorepublicans thought yesterday was a "bad day" they haven't seen anything yet.

This is a serious issue I am glad to see being brought to light. I never understood why those at the palace claim to hate gays, gay rights, ect yet they ARE gay?

They saw this coming-the mood at my neorepublican representatives office last week, was that of a funeral parlor.

One more thing, PJF. It has been my professional experience working with victims and inmates that sexual deviance in wealthy white males is really icky. Prostitution, pedophilia, gay sex of folks claiming to be straight, ect.

Washington Times has an article about "Call boys and a midnight White House tour" I think it was from 1989. Let me know if your people need/ want further info. I have studies and all that too.

Prostitutes are an important tool in the war on terror.

Just as all right-thinking Americans happily accept their lot in life as decided by the great and powerful Decider, women too must come to understand that their only function in life is to make babies and please their man. Therefore those women who have succumb to sickening lust and have had sex before marriage should all be converted into prostitutes in order to serve their masters.

As one of the most noble causes today is to continue to win the War on Terror, these filthy whores should be recruited to entice terrorists, democrats, and other lower life forms in order to deprive them of all their money and exploit them in the name of greater Freedom. Most of these women would be more than happy to continue to lead lives of desperate sexual services rather than attempt to try and live by their own misguided principles. Some of these women even have delusions that they have free will. In fact they all will come to know they are just fodder for those truly in power. Freedom for them is best defined in perpetual servitude to their masters. This is the philosophy of all right-thinking American males and this is why all right-thinking American males are as respected as ever.

Well, I'm gay and I never have hired a prostitute, escort, stripper, etc...

I have, however, slept with a closeted republican - in my youth. Won't happen again. As I've aged, I'm more interested in simplicity patterns than sex.

These GOP men are NOT gay, most are married and they just like to have sex with men.

It's disgusting to think that these sick perverted people are being paid hard earned tax money by the Americans to represent them and look after their interests.

Congressional prostitute, huh? Sounds like the the whole Gerbil and company. They pimped and schemed money from the American people to invade a country on false pretenses. Cunningham finally got justice for his crimes and graft and so will the Gerbil and company.

Godd Morning/Afternoon/Evening folks!

Happy Thursday!

Today news!

I have to say way to go to Fitz. It is what I suspected all along. Cheers!

"Paper: Fitzgerald considering perjury, obstruction charges against Rove
Special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald is said to be mulling perjury or obstruction of justice charges according to Thursday's Los Angeles Times, RAW STORY can report. Excerpts follow.
Also, according to the Washington Post, Rove is said to be 'unsure' if he will be indicted and spent three hours before the grand jury."

http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Paper_Fitzgerald_considering_perjury_obstruction_charges_0426.html

And of course, Porkrind Rove lied to the investigator and the prosecutor "eight out of nine times" which is a very good batting in baseball but bad in this leak case for Porkrind!

2. Despite high rise of gas prices, ExxonMobil still profits:

Exxon Quarterly Profit 5th Highest Ever

"DALLAS - Exxon Mobil Corp., the world's largest oil company, reported Thursday the fifth highest quarterly profit for any public company in history, posting gains from higher oil prices that were likely to stoke the furor over outsized oil company earnings"

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060427/ap_on_bi_ge/earns_exxon_mobil_4

And it makes the Gerbil's speech on easing the pain of the pumps to the American people sound stupid. The Gerbil made his profit from ExxonMobil!

And Cunningham requesting prostitutes?? Well, all I can say is that there are more politicians that claim on the outside to be self-righteous and moral and leading a double life like Cunningham. When I said that this country will take a long time to recover finanically, I also said morally. It will shock a lot of American people when they find out that certain lawmakers and politicans that they have voted for or giving money to his/her campaign is not what he/she claim to be. This is a true lesson for people of being a person of your word. You lie to people:may or may notbe a big deal. But, you lie to yourself and to God: big problem!

Folks,

More of Enron case for today. Today, I like to spotlight assistant U.S. Attorney, John Hueston, for the prosecution in his "gotcha" moment with Lay. Very smart move by Hueston.

Lay’s Son Sells Enron (and His Dad) Short

"HOUSTON — In a “gotcha” moment for the government and an embarrassing one for Ken Lay, the government showed evidence this morning that Lay’s son, Mark, shorted Enron stock in March 2001.
Prosecutor John Hueston built up to this evidence by focusing on the defense’s argument that short sellers conspired to bring down Enron. He played a video tape from October 2001 in which he said “Just like America’s under attack by terrorists, we’re under attack.” Hueston established that Lay was referring to what he alleged were articles planted by short sellers that had appeared in The Wall Street Journal the week before.
The prosecutor then referenced the “Bears in Hibernation” conference, an annual short-seller confab that in January 2001 allegedly picked Enron as its number-one short. Lay testified that Enron was “viciously” under attack by short sellers and journalists.
With that, Hueston dropped a bomb: “Your son Mark Lay was a short-seller in 2001.” Lay said he didn’t know that. Displaying Mark Lay’s brokerage account on the pull-down screen, the government highlighted several Enron short-sale transactions.
Hueston: “He wasn’t trying to kill Enron in 2001, was he?”
Lay: “No”
H: “Was he at the ‘Bears in Hibernation’ conference in 2001?”
Lay (slightly smirking): “I guess I should ask him.”

And Lay was labeled as one of "smartest guys in the Enron room?"

And:

More from WSJ of that letter that was written to WSJ from Lay in which was never sent. I mention that article last night. Here is followup:

"HOUSTON — The Law Blog told you earlier this week about the letter to the editor that Enron director Herbert “Pug” Winokur drafted to The Wall Street Journal but never sent. The letter was in response to the three mid-October 2001 articles that the defense team has argued were unfair and played a substantial role in bringing down Enron.
Tuesday, Lay’s lawyer George “Mac” Secrest sought to use the letter to show the jury that the board, which included Lay, thought the company’s financials were strong at that late stage. Though the letter had already been admitted into evidence, Judge Lake admonished Secrest to remove it from the pull-down screen. “A draft of a letter that wasn’t sent is not relevant.”

Here are the highlights:
1.“Every aspect of the off-balance sheet vehicles your reporters attack was reviewed in advance and regularly thereafter by various Committees of the Board and the full Board of Directors of Enron, as well as by our outside counsel and auditors.”
2. “The Board of Director’s had, and has, the highest respect for Andy Fastow’s capabilities and integrity. That respect is shared by many banks and investment banks with whom Enron does business as well as his peers . . . . “
3. “It is ironic that Dow Jones, the parent of your newspaper, recently purchased a large quantity of newsprint from Enron [Enron to verify]; perhaps your readers read your reporter’s distortions on Enron-supplied paper.”
Paul E. Steiger, managing editor of The Wall Street Journal, said “Reporters at the Journal were leaders in uncovering the accounting irregularities at Enron – in particular, the use of special-purpose partnerships to keep large financial liabilities off its financial statements, and the role of Enron CFO Andrew Fastow in these schemes. We are proud of our work.”

Here is the full letter of Exhibit A:
